Green Party: Corporate parties fail to take climate change crisis seriously

WASHINGTON, D.C. — The Green Party has published an appeal to supporters of the Black Lives Matter movement, written by Margaret Flowersand James Lane, Honorary Co-chairs of the 2016 Green Party Presidential Nominating Convention.

Stein, Flowers sign open letter to FERC seeking fossil fuel infrastructure halt

flowerssteinGreen Party presidential candidate Jill Stein and Maryland U.S. Senate candidate Margaret Flowers are among the more than 80 health professionals who have signed an open letter to the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission urging a halt to the approval of new oil and gas infrastructure.

They write in part, “Based on scientific evidence of the health and public safety risks associated with fossil fuel infrastructure such as oil and gas drilling, refineries, pipelines and compressor stations and of their contribution to the further escalation of climate change and its associated risks to public health and safety, there must be a moratorium on new permits and a hold on construction for projects that have not been completed until a plan is made to move completely to energy sources that do not cause harm.”… Read more ...

The Medicare program just reached its 48th birthday. Events were held in 27 cities across the nation to celebrate, but we will have to do more if we hope to preserve this national treasure. The very real attacks on Medicare from both Democrats and Republicans raise concern about its future survival and the direction that our healthcare system is going in the United States.
