News & Notes: York County Tries to Prevent Libertarian From Taking Office, Liz Cheney’s Independent Option

WOE-MACK: York County District Attorney Dave Sunday has filed an injunction seeking to bar Libertarian Dave Womack from serving on the Dallastown Borough Council because of his nearly 19-year-old criminal record.

Womack committed several crimes at the age of 21, serving four years in prison for his offenses. Apparently the Supreme Court recognizes felonies as “infamous crimes,” which according to Pennsylvania’s constitution makes Womack ineligible to hold the office he was elected to last November.… Read more ...

MAINE LIBERTARIANS BACK IN BUSINESS: A federal judge has ordered Maine election officials to allow Libertarian Party members to re-enroll in an expedited process and to nominate candidates for the 2022 elections.

The order by Judge Lance Walker, signed last week, requires the secretary of state to send letters informing Libertarians that their unenrollment was unlawful and that they may rejoin.… Read more ...
