Boston Tea Party Resolution of Support for the People of Tunisia & Egypt

On February 4, 2011 the Boston Tea Party National Committee passed a resolution of support for the Tunisian and Egyptian people by a vote of 4-0 (with 3 not voting).

Whereas all human beings are born free and equal in dignity and rights, and
Whereas all human beings have unalienable rights to life, liberty & pursuit of happiness, and
Whereas it is the right of the people to alter or to abolish any government that violates these basic rights, and
Whereas it is the right of the people to institute a new form of government, therefore

Be it resolved, the Boston Tea Party National Committee expresses support for the people of Tunisia and Egypt, and
Be it resolved, the Boston Tea Party National Committee supports the rights of all peoples wishing to alter or abolish their present form of government.

David Nolan proposes resolution for LNC consideration

As reported by George Phillies in IPR comments, Libertarian Party co-founder David Nolan has proposed the following resolution to be considered at this weekend’s LNC meeting:

“WHEREAS the Libertarian Party can grow only by attracting new members and supporters, and

“WHEREAS libertarianism is a unique political philosophy, distinct from both contemporary liberalism and contemporary conservatism, and

“WHEREAS we need the support of both former liberals and former conservatives who have come to realize that libertarianism and the Libertarian Party offer a better path to achieving a just, humane and prosperous society

“The Libertarian National Committee hereby resolves that our party, its representatives and staff should always state clearly and unequivocally that we welcome individuals from across the political spectrum who now accept the libertarian principles of self-ownership and non-aggression.”… Read more ...

LP of Florida says LNC, LNCC should boot Wayne Root

Karl Dickey at The Examiner and Liberty for All:

During a regular meeting of the Libertarian Party of Florida’s Executive Committee last night, they created a resolution (found below) to repudiate recent comments made by Libertarian National Congressional Committee chairman Wayne Allyn Root and suggested his removal from any leadership position within the Libertarian Party.
