Constitution Party of New Mexico Chairman Responds to IPR, Elected National Chairman Chimes in

Several days ago, American Third Party Report broke news that the Constitution Party of New Mexico (CPNM) went against the national party and nominated a ticket of Samm Tittle for president and CPNM chairman J.W. Fakes for vice president.

Constitution Party Nominates Don Blankenship for President on Second Ballot

At its National Convention online today, the Constitution Party nominated former Massey Energy CEO Don Blankenship for President on the second ballot. William Mohr was nominated unanimously for vice president.

As posted at Ballot Access News, the vote went as follows:

First ballot:

  1. Blankenship 139.5
  2. Charles Kraut 77.8
  3. Samm Tittle 46.35
  4. Don Grundmann 25.25
  5. Daniel Clyde Cummings 13.1

Second ballot:

  1. Blankenship 177
  2. Kraut 86.75
  3. Grundmann 24
  4. Tittle 21.25

Constitution Party National Convention to Take Place in Cyberspace

As Ballot Access News reports, the Constitution Party yesterday changed its National Convention from a meatspace affair to a cyberspace event.  This comes as the coronavirus pandemic forces closures around the world, with local governments shuttering nonessential businesses and advising or ordering residents to remain home.

Update on Status of the Constitution Party National Convention

The city of St. Louis, Missouri has banned any public gatherings of more than fifty people due to the coronavirus pandemic. Therefore, unless the ban is lifted before the planned Constitution Party National Convention on April 29 through May 2, the Convention will not be able to go forward.

According to Ballot Access News, the Constitution Party’s Executive Committee are to meet next week to determine what course of action to take.… Read more ...
