Polling: McMullin Running Second in Utah Senate Race

According to a new survey of 804 registered Utah voters conducted for the Deseret News/Hinckley Institute of Politics, incumbent U.S. Senator Mike Lee is leading in his re-election bid with the support of 43% of voters. Thomas P. Schneider, the former mayor of Florissant, Missouri has announced that he is going to run run as an independent for the U.S. Senate seat being vacated by Republican Roy Blunt.

Time Capsule: Farmer-Labor Party’s Norma Lundeen Seeks Late Husband’s Seat in U.S. Senate

Minnesota’s Norma Lundeen, widow of the Farmer-Labor Party’s Ernest Lundeen, an isolationist who was later accused of being a Nazi sympathizer, unexpectedly entered the race for her late husband’s U.S. Senate seat in July of 1942.

Lundeen’s husband, who had been tragically killed in a plane crash near the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains in Virginia two years earlier, was reportedly under investigation by the FBI at the time of his death.… Read more ...

Phil Anderson exploring Libertarian run for U.S. Senate in Wisconsin

Phil Anderson of Fitchburg, WI has announced his formation of an exploratory committee to possibly run for Wisconsin’s U.S. Senate seat in 2016, in an election currently expected to feature a rematch between incumbent first-term Republican Ron Johnson and Democratic former Senator Russ Feingold.
