The Washington Post editorial board, one of the prime caretakers of establishmentarian consensus about national politics, has a curious editorial today titled “Gary Johnson is an honest but defective candidate.” The piece is curious not simply because it invites snarky retorts—so, you prefer dishonest but effective candidates, eh?

Green candidate George Gluck on the ballot in Montgomery County, Maryland

Acting without just authority, interim Executive Director of the Libertarian Party Robert Kraus — who replaced the disgraced and resigned Shane Cory (who now works for the Barr campaign) — issued a statement saying that libertarians should not trust blogs for their news. Washington Post snarks at Greens protesting lack of coverage

Many independent and smaller party candidates have complained for a long time about lack of coverage from the corporate media. Here is one snarky, cynical response from the establishment:

A group of about 15 protestors and candidates from a Certain Political Party That Will Go Unnamed gathered outside the Washington Post building today to protest their belief that the company “routinely ignores or marginalizes the party’s candidates.”

Bob Barr visits dueling progressive and conservative blogger conferences in Austin

What brings him to town? Barr is giving the keynote address this evening at RightOnline, the rival conservative blogger conference being held across the city. His Netroots Nation visit wasn’t anticipated, but conference political director Josh Orton said he was welcome as long as he paid the regular entrance fee.
