Unity Party Seeks Just 24 More Voters as Hammons Mulls Bid
Boulder, Colorado – Per an email from the Colorado Secretary of State’s Elections Division posted on the www.billisrunning.com campaign site of former (2016) Unity Party US Senate candidate and future (2018) Unity Party Gubernatorial candidate Bill Hammons, the Unity Party of Colorado is 24 affiliated voters away from full-fledged party status in the state, and thus is 24 “Unity” voters away from being able to place any Unity Party candidate directly onto any General Election ballot with a simple show of hands at a party assembly, no voter signature gathering by candidates required.
“Judging from past voter affiliation trends, it’s clear we’ll pass the 1,000-voter Minor Party threshold well before 2018, and thus be able to nominate one Governor, one Lieutenant Governor, one Secretary of State, one State Treasurer, one Attorney General, seven US House, 17 State Senate, 65 State House and countless county-and-district-level candidates directly onto the November 2018 General Election ballot in two years,” says Unity Party Chairman Hammons. “Rest assured I’ll be heavily recruiting fellow Coloradans who appear to have common sense and Centrist values to run on the 2018 ‘Unity’ ticket, even as I myself gear up to run as the first Unity Party candidate for Governor to be placed on a General Election ballot.”
