George D. J. Phillies, D. Sc.,

George Phillies is a full-time writer and retired physics professor. He lives in Worcester, Massachusetts, with his cat, the world’s largest board wargame collection, broad technical and science fiction libraries, and extensive flower gardens. His Libertarian books include four technical studies of Libertarian politics: Surely We Can Do Better, Libertarian Renaissance, Funding Liberty, and Stand up for Liberty. Phillies has been on the ballot for Federal Office twice. For a decade, he served as an officer of the Libertarian Association of Massachusetts, at different times as Treasurer and Chair. He was co-founder of the Pioneer Valley Libertarian Association, Massachusetts’ oldest continuously-existing libertarian political organization.

Phillies edited the PVLA’s monthly magazines for nearly two decades, as seen on the website CMLC.org. He is President of the National Fantasy Fan Federation, the world’s oldest national S.F. club, and President of AHIKS, the world’s oldest and largest board wargaming society. In addition, he edits five S.F. magazines, namely Eldritch Science, Tightbeam, The National Fantasy Fan, The N3F Review of Books Incorporating Prose Bono, and the FanActivity Gazette.

Phillies has to his credit eight S.F. novels, namely This Shining Sea, Minutegirls, The One World, Mistress of the Waves, Against Three Lands, The Girl Who Saved The World, Airy Castles All Ablaze, and Practical Exercise. In addition, he has five textbooks on board game design, a statistical mechanics textbook, a first-year mechanics book (Physics One), the definitive monograph on polymer solution dynamics, and more than 170 scientific research papers, most on light scattering spectroscopy and polymer dynamics.

Jordan Willow Evans

Jordan Willow Evans is a policy analyst and writer living in Goffstown, New Hampshire. She is the Executive Director of Outsider Media Foundation and Managing Editor for Independent Political Report. She is originally from Charlton, Massachusetts, where she served seven years as an elected library trustee, six years as an elected constable, and two terms on the Dudley-Charlton Regional School Committee.

Jordan has given presentations on the relationship between personal identity and political identity at the Harvard Kennedy School and before the New England Historical Association. She has appeared on ABC News, BNT 1, Sky News, VICE World News, and RT, and her articles have been in the Telegram & Gazette, CommonWealth Magazine, Houston Chronicle, Advocate, and Kansas City Star. In addition to Outsider Media Foundation, she is Board Treasurer of MassEquality and Chair of the Libertarian Policy Foundation.

Joseph G. Buchman, Ph.D.,

Joe has served as a Contributing Editor to Independent Political Report since 2011.  His interests are focused on how new technologies influence voter behavior and democracy.  He is a retired professor of marketing and telecommunications having earned a Ph.D. from the Media School at Indiana University (1989), an MBA in finance from Purdue (1983), and a BS in marketing from IU (1980).  He is an adventure traveler who crossed the Gobi, chased seven total solar eclipses, and drove more than 90 percent of the US Interstate Highway system in a 1998 RoadTrek RV.  Since 2010 he has been a burner and currently serves on the design team for the Census (part of the Burning Nerds), and as a staff member (DPW) for the annual Burning Man event.  He has also served as an assistant theater manager for the at the Sundance Film Festival, as the manager of the largest venue for the Napa Valley Film Festival, and as a moderator for panel discussions at the Sonoma Film Festival.  He is also a member of the board of directors of the Hollywood Disclosure Alliance.

In 2013 he served as the moderator for the National Press Club Citizen Hearing on ET/UFO Disclosure in Washington DC. He is a past chair of the Libertarian Party’s national audit committee, a past member of the New Hampshire Investigatory Committee, past chair (interim) of the national platform committee, and the archivist of the David Nolan personal papers collection (which he arranged to be donated to the Library of Congress), a past candidate for the US House (2008, 2017, 2023), Utah state senate (2016), Utah house (2018), past Utah Libertarian Party secretary, and a past chair of the Utah LP.
