The California Aggie of the University of California Davis reports this morning that independent presidential candidate Ralph Nader and running mate Matt Gonzalez spoke at the Varsity Theatre in Davis on Saturday. Gonzalez, who spoke first, said, “The only way you can make your vote relevant is to vote for who you want and not be scared. It’s hard out there, and it’s important that the people who support us defend us.”
Along similar lines, Nader said, “If someone tells you you’re wasting your vote, you ask them, ‘When will you stop putting the ring in your nose and providing the tether to the…dictatorial parties in this country?'” Nader also said he is aiming to get into the Google-YouTube debate, which requires candidates to reach 10 percent in national polls.

Note Robert Milnes.
I was wondering why this topic had so many comments, it didn’t really seem that noteworthy.
I can vouch for Mike, he’s dumb as a stick.
=)
Don’t be fooled, I’m dumb as a stick. 😀
Mike,
I had no idea that you were 16 years old. I may not agree with you politically, but you are remarkably articulate and informed. I’ve read a bit of writing on the internet by 16 years olds, I’m doubly impressed.
And you ARE far more credible than a certain delusional ex-felon mental patient.
Mike Theodore, that’s older & wiser Mr. Milnes to you.
Oh my. Let’s not do that!
Oh, I see. Now we are playing Get Smart!
Just about everybody is a collectivist fascist to him!
comrade cory! Ha! I like that. But does that make him a fascist or commie? Let’s ask g.e. He hates everybody!
I’m removing the ignore bubble for a sec.
Robert, do you realize a 16 year old is more credible than ol’ Robert Milnes?
Ignore bubble closed.
Mike Gillis, do you realize you are consulting a 16 year old here?
I don’t know. I guess we’ll just wait and see. Barr is saying that only Oklahoma is the problem, but the whole effort seems overly-optimistic.
I know that the Nader campaign turned in signatures to WV as they went and could get a running count that way.
I don’t think they are turning in the new ones, probably waiting if they accept them. I’m not sure though, I just don’t know why they’d turn them in.
has he turned in any of the sigs so far, so as to get a running count?
I’m not sure. I think around 12,000 out of 15,000 needed. An email from Comrade Cory says that they’ll continue to gather signatures just in case the challenge against the deadline succeeds.
How many signatures did Barr turn in on the deadline?
Which will lose by more, ralf or barf?
Any word on Barr pushing West Virginia?
Did anyone else just hear a bunch of white noise? Oh well…
It’s really exciting to see the Nader campaign get the CA ballot line and get the word out.
It looks like he’s going to get more ballot lines and votes than he did in 2004!
Ignore, man. IGNORE!
7 in a row! Whew!
The same wise ones who did not vote for me wind up voting for a loser anyway. So let’s all give cred to those who did not vote for me.
Why does Nader run knowing he’s going to lose? The same reason I did. It’s the only game in town. He did better than me. So what? He’ll lose anyway.
We are stuck in the ass before it even starts.
read it & weep. http://www.rangevoting.org
Takes one to know one, right fellow losers?
Even if Nader wins, which he will not because he can’t read T-I-T-A-N-I-C, ALL his legislation would get blocked by the dem & rep Congress, ALL his vetoes overridden.
All you third party types are losers. I’m just another loser stuck on the Titanic with you all.
Agreed, even when he calls me out on the Titanic.
He’s gonna be mining soon, anyways.
Yeah, I’ll ignore him from now on.
Can we all just agree to ignore Milnes when he spouts this stuff?
Don’t rise to the bait, people!
Milnes, before you call anyone else a loser, count your own ballot lines and supporters.
Nader is in violation of Third Party election Law. You must wear a helmet when knocking your head against a brick wall repeatedly.
Mike Gillis, no argument. Nader will lose. He’s a loser jst like you.
Oh, just to nitpick for a second, Matt’s last name ends with a “z”, not an “s”.
And in doing so, he would have never gotten the Peace and Freedom nomination, nor would it have convinced Libertarians to swarm to his campaigns.
This is your problem, Milnes. You seem utterly incapable to acknowledging that there are human elements beyond simple numbers and theories.
You run a fusion ticket and you won’t get all progressives and libertarians. You’d give up a sizeable number of both. And you’d have to have a ticket with a unified message and platform.
And in doing so, you’re going to lose votes from both sides of the compromise.
Ralph and Matt are running a strong third party progressive campaign that regularly polls in the range of 5-6%.
There are libertarians that will vote for Nader. And there are libertarians that would never vote for Nader.
Just as there are Libertarian candidates I could vote for and Libertarians I could never vote for.
But slapping a libertarian on Ralph’s ticket would never double his vote. It certainly wouldn’t get him ALL of the Libertarian voters or all of the third party progressive ones.
He’s doing just fine without your strategy, Milnes.
All Nader had to do was select a libertarian woman for vp (Ruwart?) & then convince her to accept such an impure arrangement & they would have much MSM & 10% polling.
