Dennis Kucinich calls for impeachment, and calls for 1,000,000 to sign petition

While Dennis Kucinich is a Democrat, many third party candidates have joined him in his attempt to impeach president George W. Bush. He has already entered 35 articles of impeachment into the House record, gotten John Conyers to convene a hearing on impeachment, and now on September 10th he will present a petition to Nancy Pelosi. You can sign the petition here, and read about it below.

Kucinich explains the purpose of the petition as,

“the President must be held accountable for abusing executive power and disregarding his Constitutional obligations.”

He has already presented one to Pelosi containing 100,000 signatures, and would like to top 1,000,000 people supporting his effort on September 10th. He believes that it will send a clear message to the House Speaker.

In related news, Cindy Sheehan is challenging Nancy Pelosi due to the fact that she is not trying to impeach the president.

Eh, Tom, you have something that resembles a point… very well, you’ve convinced me.

Spence – he already showed Pelosi a petition with 100,000 signatures, and now he wants to show her one with 1,000,000 signatures. This isn’t just another e-petition. This one’s going to the Speaker of the House.

    Spence,

Look on the bright side: If they’re doing good stuff, being on their mailing lists means you know about it. If they’re doing bad stuff, the money they spend sending you mail about it is money they don’t have to do that bad stuff with.

This looks fishy to me. I mean, maybe I’m just used to fruitless e-petitions that never make it anywhere. I’m all for sending the message as anyone, though, and even though I’m sure Kucinich is one of the sincere statists and not intentionally evil ones, I don’t want to give out information that will more than likely be used for one of his party’s mailing lists.

I just signed it. I’m no fan of Kucinich, but I just can’t resist the siren song of impeachment.

Come on, the petition isn’t to support Kucinich. It’s the best tool we have right now to fight for impeachment.

I’ll sign it if he doesn’t endorse Obama…

    Too late.
