Libertarian Cole ‘makes his mark’ in North Carolina race

A generally favorable piece on North Carolina Libertarian U.S. Senate candidate Chris Cole runs in the Kinston Free Press under the headline “Christopher Cole Makes His Mark On U.S. Senate Campaign.” The article mainly focuses on Cole’s poll showings — seven percent in one recent survey — and on North Carolina Libertarian campaigns in general.

The paper says Cole’s “primary campaign tactic involves sending position papers to the news media. He is paying for the campaign out of his own pocket, but he has few expenses other than the initial filing fee. The primary planks in Cole’s platform include abolishing the federal personal income tax, ending ‘government incentives’ for illegal immigration and ending the war in Iraq.”
