Ohio Green U.S. House candidate wants spot on ballot

Dennis Spisak, the Green candidate in Ohio’s Sixth U.S. House District, filed as a write-in candidate but is now “demanding his name be printed on the ballot due to a recent ruling regarding the Green Party,” the Salem News reports.

Spisak “cited a federal court ruling Tuesday which said Cynthia McKinney had the right to be placed on the Ohio ballot as a presidential candidate for the Green Party because of a previous ruling which allowed Libertarian candidates to be placed on the ballot.” Board of Elections Director Kim Meek said she is “checking with legal counsel at the Ohio Secretary of State’s office on Spisak’s request.”
