Libertarian Barr to speak at Notre Dame

Libertarian presidential nominee Bob Barr will speak at Indiana’s Notre Dame University on Friday, the AP reports. The event, “which is being sponsored by the College Libertarians of Notre Dame, is open only to Notre Dame and Saint Mary’s College students and staff members. The speech begins at 3 p.m. in Washington Hall. Barr is the only third-party candidate for president whose name will appear on the Indiana ballot.”

The Notre Dame Observer says Barr “said this will be his first visit to Notre Dame. ‘I received a gracious invitation from the College Libertarians of Notre Dame who were very enthusiastic and persuasive,’ Barr said in an e-mail.”

In other Barr news, the new edition of Reason features a cover story on the Barr campaign. A lengthy interview with Barr by Reason’s Dave Weigel, not yet available online, is well worth the read.

If Barr’s karma rubs off bad on my college football team for this weekend’s battle versus Stanford, then I will be very pissed off!
