I appreciate your invitation. I’m currently busy finishing up my Libertarian political book for one of the biggest publishers in the world. I have to deliver 80,000 words by January 1st. I’m busy writing a few hours each morning.
But that just a small part of an intense week in my life. I’ll let my actions speak for themselves- I did 5 radio interviews in one day on Wednesday- including an appearance on the nationally syndicated “Jerry Doyle Show;” followed by another FOX News Channel appearance on Thursday on “Your World with Neil Cavuto”; followed by an appearance on KABC Radio in Los Angeles on “The Al Rantel Show” on Friday (he just replaced Larry Elder).
And in between all that, I managed to squeeze in a 36 hour trip to Indianapolis to keynote the Indiana LP’s annual holiday event and help them raise them fundraise for their Secretary of State candidate in 2010. I also agreed to keynote the Ohio LP’s annual event this Spring. That’s a pretty typical week in my life.
I hope a peak at my schedule best illustrates what I’m doing for the LP, the freedom movement, and how serious I am about my future political career. Best Wishes & Happy Holidays to you and all your readers at IPR,

I emailed him afterwords to offer some campaign help, and he said he’s working on correcting some inter-LP problems before working hard on his campaign.

Jingo may not be allowed to comment as a potential candidate given that he’s the sitting vice-chair. (Recall that his comment that he’d be running again was made before he got that job, and he hasn’t said anything since.) I don’t know anything about Waymire.
err, *could* certainly take a few lessons.
I hate to admit it, but if Root gets some *serious* polishing I could concievably see him being acceptable. He’s at least demonstrating a commitment to helping the LP in a way Barr and his ilk never have, even if he is a shamelessly obnoxious self-promoter. He’d never be my first choice (I like Mike Munger a lot- though I might be biased since I could be a student of his in 2012), but his continued (albeit transparently self-interested) enthusiasm at a time when we’re seeing a lot of burn-out and intra-party animosity is understandably refreshing.
His rambling rants could use a good editor, though. And he couldn’t certainly take a few lessons on more Presidential comportment.

Avoid issues, focus on interviews he’s making, and emphasize that he’s still focused on libertarianism.
I wonder how you can be “focused on libertarianism” while “avoiding issues”.
The problems you cite are not problems, they are strengths. Heaven forbid libertarians get interviews and media contacts.
