Hello Everyone,
I thought you all might like to know that the AZLP had its convention on Saturday and we churned out some great results! Clint Bolick was on hand to give a great speech on constitutional rights. David Nolan and John Buttrick gave some excellent speeches about the present course of the Libertarian Party while the AZLP also revised its platform. Both speeches will be up soon at FreedomsPhoenix.com.
We affirmed what was originally in place as far as our policy stances in
2004. In other words, the platform of the AZLP is the national LP’s 2004 platform with planks that we enact specific to our state. We also made some minor changes to our platform planks that will be present at our website shortly.
I was elected 2nd Assistant Vice Chair, Barry Hess (who is running for
Governor next election) is now 1st Asst Vice Chair and Michael Kielsky was relected Chair for a third term. We are also going to move quickly on getting more registrations to maintain ballot status too.
Overall, a fantastic, radical convention! I should know, I organized it
(with a little help of course)!
