Cape “tea party” canceled; City fears too many attendees
CAPE CORAL, Fla. – A tea party to protest government spending and taxing is canceled. Canceled by the government.
Why? They feel too many people could show-up.

I can link some others for Greens, etc. if someone wants them..
Not you necessarily, just someone.
I’ve been trying to avoid doing it myself so the site does not rely too much on my availability.
I’m still here (much longer than I anticipated or hoped for) but I do need to get back on the road, so I want to make sure the coverage keeps happening without me.
Sorry if some stuff doesn’t get covered, but I’ve been trying to avoid writing about the LP lately. I just think other parties are a bit under-represented here, and it’s not like I have an allegiance to any party.
If anyone wants to cover these…

Martin Luther King . . . Gandhi . . . thet did not “ask permission” to protest againt injustice. Hold the rally and let the police kick you out. Make sure to invite all the TV stations. Cops crushing the 1st Amendment. Film at 11.
Thanks, Paul; sloppy of me.

“Cape Coral Tea Party
A retraction from WINK News: On Friday, winknews.com erroneously reported the city of Cape Coral had cancelled the Tea Party scheduled for Jaycee Park. That was incorrect. The City of Cape Coral DID NOT cancel the event. What actually occurred was the organizer of the event, Lynn Rosko pulled out when the city informed her she would have to carry liability insurance if the crowd grew too large. Ms. Rosko decided she did not want to bear the responsibility and the cost. So Ms. Rosko decided to cancel the event. WINK News regrets the error and apologizes to the City of Cape Coral for generating unnecessary confusion. Later, another group stepped up to get insurance required by the City to hold the event. So the Tea Party was held as planned Wednesday evening at Jaycee Park. For that story, click in headlines.

And here I thought it was another April Fools Day joke…
Certainly outrageous.
But is there a direct connection to alternative parties or independent candidates? (I don’t mean a tangential connection like “if they can do it to them they can do it to us” or “some LP and CP members are individually involved in organizing the protests”).
I am organizing a tax revolt rally in Riverside, California on April 11. If Riverside decides to cancel it, I will still go forward with it.

Citizens should be able to have a vote of “no confidence” through means of petitoning. It should be used against anyone, unless he or she is a libertarian. But that’s the exception :p
As a Floridian, I am never shocked nor surprised by the actions of our government down here.
Hell, we can’t even count.
I agree with the commenters – show up anyway.
