Three alternative party candidates on California U.S. House primary ballot

The AP runs a primer on the California 10th District U.S. House special election primary on September 1. While most of the piece is devoted to the major party candidates, the AP does note that “other contenders come from the Green, American Independent and Peace and Freedom parties.” Those candidates, not mentioned by name in the article, are Jeremy Cloward, Jerry Denham, and Mary McIlroy, respectively. In addition, Tiffany Attwood is running an active write-in campaign.

I just went to a forum in Nassau County that showed a Pete Seeger film and had a sing-a-long.

A colleague of mine was complaining about Obama and Afghanistan. I said, “Did you vote for him?” And he said yes. And, knowing who he was speaking with, he went on to confess, “Yeah, I know, I should have voted for Cynthia McKinney or Ralph Nader.”

I think Jeremy Cloward might do better than expected.

While the peace movement is at somewhat of a standstill, I do think there are a lot of people mulling about, dejected, but wiser, just knowing that the Democratic Party sucked it up again, and they have to start doing something different.

The midterm elections, too, could be a great time for third parties. Someone was saying how historically, the midterm election would always bring an addition to the opposition party – when one party has the majority and the President. I am hoping the energy of opposition feeds into third parties, instead. It’s about time…

Tiffany Attwood is a registered Democrat.

Cloward is a Green Party member.

Don’t see the other person on the list I found of affiliations.

    Oh, wait, half asleep.

The list did not say it. But, from the web-site, Mary McIlroy is running on the Peace and Freedom line.

I don’t know which person is American Independent? Could someone listed as Democrat be running with that party? Hmmmm???

For some reason there is no Libertarian in this contest. So, Green Cloward should declare he supports the Progressive Libertarian Alliance Strategy. Ask for The Libertarian Vote/Cato Institute 13%. Libertarians should endorse his candidacy in lieu of no Libertarian candidate competitor. Who else should they vote for, the friggin republican?

There are multiple Democrats running. If one candidate doesn’t get a certain percentage there will be a runoff election, I believe.

Jeremy Cloward touts the abused veterans line and is an official endorsee of Citizens For A Better Veterans Home. Let’s see if he get serious ’bout real veterans issues like state veterans homes, ‘Feres’ Doctrine, and unfair divorce procedures!

Come on Jeremy, walk the walk instead of merely talking the talk! Just cause the Dems and GOP are worse than you are does not mean all that much. Thx for putting us on your web site. Hope it helps! At least it will give CALVETS thugs some Maloxx moments!

Kim: what is your gripe with George W and his third term ???? Still stuck in the middle east, with Gates and Bernanke at their old George W jobs!
Obama, my Yokohama Momma, still looking for change under the sofa cushions!

Well they really did not make much mentioning about the third party candidates. Of course I find that common for most MSM sources.

Looking at the websites, Mary McIlroy seems to be the only candidate that puts her platform out front and also seems to be the only candidate that is in the streets demostrating in support of her issues.

She will most likely get the most votes out of the third party candidates in the runoff.
