Independent Libertarian Joe Kennedy running for Senate in Massachusetts

Posted at Gold America Group:

Gold America Group has learned that political independent and National Libertarian Party member Joe Kennedy is vigorously exploring a run for U.S. Senate in the Massachusetts Special Election this January. Financial, Legal, petitioning, and web page development steps are said to be under way. The web page http://JoeKennedyForSenate.com is appearing soon. A major obstacle is still out there: Getting on the ballot in Massachusetts as an independent for U.S. Senate requires tens of thousands of dollars to pay petitioners.

Libertarian Party supporter Joe Kennedy is not related to the late U.S. Senator Edward Kennedy, whose tragic death led to the special election now under way.

    Rabbi Lazarus,
I have been pleased with the slight independence that Senator Brown has has shown. Hopefully, he will be able to continue this.

Maybe someday in my lifetime I’ll see a third party win an election. The democrats and republicans are no longer for the people. They’re for the fat cats on Wall Street, big-pharma, and bio-engineered food industry. It’s time we take our country back and vote for Ron Paul! Let’s give the third party a chance to make a real difference!

So, out side of infecting a secular political site with religion, how is your presence required on a blog known as INDEPENDENT Political Report ?????

  4. Rabbi Shlomo Lazarus January 18, 2010

    Mr. Kennedy,
I am a third generation Bostonian. I have lived in South Africa for 23 years. I have seen the greatness in people both in victory and defeat. You can be personally victorious by ceding your constituency to Scott Brown. It is your moment.
Seize it and G-d will bless you.

PLEASE DROP OUT AND ENDORSE BROWN! YOU DON’T HAVE A CHANCE TO WIN AND CAN ONLY HELP THE DEMOCRATS. DO WHATS BEST FOR OUR COUNTRY.

“If i was in England, there is no way that I would show the ‘queen’ any special consideration beyond the normal cordiality that all people deserve when meeting strangers. Using the same respect that I would show to any other married woman, I would address her as Mrs. Hohenzollern”

And why, pray tell, would you call Mrs. Windsor by an incorrect surname?

  10. grace January 11, 2010

The lady and the gentleman and the
Harvard Professor did not give him an equal voice. He reminded me of a young Ron Paul. Wish I had voted for Ron Paul to look back on it.

Listening on C Span: I was very impressed with this young man, Being 60 yrs old and rembering Ted Kenedy, I always resented him and felt he was the least of the Kenedys. I never trusted him because of his scared past.
I hope that his message was heard! I thought it was a good one. We need more politicians with his honesty, demenor and integrity. I’m glad he’s not one of the priviledge elite. He s down to earth and my thoughts were at first he was of “The Kenedy” family. Not reminding me of Ted Thank God, but John F Kenedy.

It is really annoying that some people say that Joe Kennedy is not the “real Joe Kennedy”. This is America, not some dumbass country that has royalty who are given “more equal than others” status because their ancestors enserfed/enslaved/stole from the “common” folk who just wanted to live their simple lives in peace. If i was in England, there is no way that I would show the “queen” any special consideration beyond the normal cordiality that all people deserve when meeting strangers. Using the same respect that I would show to any other married woman, I would address her as Mrs. Hohenzollern, not as “your majesty” or similar such bullshit.

Back to the point. Joe Kennedy owns his name as much as anyone else (dozens? hundreds?) with that same name. It is time that the elitists were delegated to their well-deserved place — lower than the “common” man.

Libertarian Joseph Kennedy of Boston has announced he will actually seek the vacant U.S. Senate Seat in Massachusetts. Kennedy is a national party member, but is registered Unenrolled, so he is running under independent/party designation rules.

    Above is from Phillies.

  14. Joe Kennedy September 11, 2009

Danny S., To be frank and honest a lot of work needs to be completed for me to get on the ballot. As I do not have significant personal coffers to fuel my campaign, donations have become very important in the short run. I greatly appreciate your support in directing any potential donors to my website: http://joekennedyforsenate.com .

    Thank you

    Joe Kennedy

I have learned at 9 A.M. this morning that the attorney for Libertarian Joseph L. Kennedy of Boston pulled nominating papers for the Senate special Election. Kennedy is unenrolled (“independent” to most of the rest of you) and will be running as an independent.

  16. Becky September 8, 2009

Having the Kennedy name is a common scam in Massachusetts Politics. One guy, almost as obscure as this character, made a nice little hack career–got a parking garage named after him, etc. in Middlesex County because his name was “Robert Kennedy”

  17. George Phillies September 7, 2009

Assuredly, it will not be the state party doing this. Kennedy is looking at raising the $40,000 or so he needs to get on the ballot, if he decides to run.

    George

  18. Danny S September 7, 2009

Do ya’ll have the resources in Massachusetts to get him on the ballot?

  19. Third Party Revolution September 7, 2009

Technically he is of relation, as we are all descended from the same early humans. But the relation would be a millionth cousin many times removed.

  20. Who's Thumbing Who? September 7, 2009

    Not libertarian,

It’s not the same Kennedy, genius.

But I don’t blame you…having Donderror’s thumbs in your ass must be making it pretty damn hard for you to think clearly, if at all.

  21. George Phillies September 7, 2009

“Thank heavens”? Yes, In Massachusetts the effort needed to get someone on the ballot goes through the ceiling if you are a major party member.

  22. paulie September 7, 2009

    A better kind of Kennedy?

    A new kind of Kennedy?

    Not your dad’s Joe Kennedy?

  23. George Phillies September 6, 2009

Kennedy is a National party member who, thank heavens, is registered “Unenrolled” (“Independent” to the rest of you) so he must by law run as an independent, not as a Libertarian. He will perhaps run as a candidate of the “Liberty” Party.

  24. Third Party Revolution September 6, 2009

We here at Third Party Revolution endorse Joe Kennedy in his campaign for the Massachusetts United States Senate seat, along with many other third party and independent candidates seeking public offices nationwide, ranging from local to federal levels.

  25. VAGreen September 6, 2009

    “Or an Independent Green.

    LOL”

    😀

  26. paulie September 6, 2009

    Or an Independent Green.

    LOL

  27. VAGreen September 6, 2009

What’s an Independent Libertarian? I hope that it’s nothing like an Independent Democrat.

  28. NewFederalist September 6, 2009

Nah, this isn’t excessive. Changing his name to Ted and then running… now THAT’S excessive!

  29. Jeremy Young September 6, 2009

This guy just wants to be on the ballot so he can steal votes from the real Joe Kennedy, Ted’s nephew. I’m all about getting votes by whatever gimmicks are necessary, but this seems a little excessive.
