Former Green Party VP candidate Rosa Clemente gets radio show

Rosa Clemente, hip-hop activist and 2008 Green Party Vice-Presidential candidate, has a new program on WBAI 99.5FM in New York City. WBAI is listener-sponsored, community radio for peace and justice, a Pacifica Radio affiliate.

“Hip-Hop State of Mind” will be broadcast in the NYC metro area (including parts of Connecticut, New Jersey and Long Island) on Saturdays at noon. There is also listening on-line and some archives through the WBAI web-site.

    Well

I just found the answer to this question.

It is the WBAI that fired people of the quality of Don Debar.

    Is Rosa aware of this?

Is this WBAI or WBAI in Exile?

Does Rosa know about those people, like Don DeBar and others who were fired by WBAI “management” who have been trying to “professionalize” (in otherwise corporatize) WBAI? This has been going on all over the country with independent radio stations. Including KFAI Fresh Air radio in Minnesota.

As an aside Rosa Clamente was spectacular when she spoke at the rally on the first day of the RNCC in St Paul last year.

This is a great show. It’s real and tackles issues and news that the mainstream media doesn’t cover. Rosa is a joy to listen to and it feels like she just walked into your kitchen and is istting down having a conversation with you. I love this show and look forward to it each week.
