Richard Winger to Debate California Lt. Gov. Maldonado on Proposition 14

Richard Winger, the nation’s leading ballot access expert, will participate in an hour-long debate with Lt. Gov. Abel Maldonado, author of California’s Proposition 14, the “top-two” ballot measure, on Monday, May 10, at 9AM Pacific Time.

The first five minutes of the program will include remarks from Professor Eric McGhee, author of last February’s report on the top-two open primary for the Public Policy Institute of California. The second half of the debate is expected to include questions from callers, as well as inquiries submitted by e-mail.

The debate will be aired live from the studio of KQED 88.5 FM, the public radio station in San Francisco.

The radio station says if President Obama nominates someone for US Supreme Court Justice on Monday morning, the show will be postponed an hour. Thanks for this posting, IPR!

Forget the nerd crap that we love on this site. Focus. This is a direct attack on democracy itself.

    —-write-in votes are illegal
—-parties are denied their right to choose their own candidates
—-the two larger parties are BANNING four other parties from a general election ballot.

This is nothing more than 1933 Germany.
