The Modern Whig Party has a new website, Modernwhig.info.
From their blog:
“The MWP is proud to announce new state chapters in Oklahoma, Oregon, Mississippi, Florida, and Arizona. These chapters have been organizing since November of 2010. The MWP is also currently working on new chapters in Ohio and Delaware as well. With the addition of the Delaware and Ohio chapters this will give the MWP 37 active state chapters out of 50 states.
For America, Andrew Evans, National Chairman, Modern Whig Party”
Also on the site: a Blogtalk radio show including their 2011 State of the Union response and other episodes; links to Whigs on facebook and twitter; and condolences to Arizona shooting victim (from the front page:
“January 2011- The Modern Whig Party mourns for the victims of the recent Arizona shooting. The victims and their families are in our thoughts and prayers. The Whigs roundly condemn the actions that led to this tragic event. The Whigs will alway strive to work for an America where regardless of our individual thoughts we always remember and respect the life, liberty, and values of all Americans.”)
It’s not so much that we are moderates and we are pragmatists. Take a look at our core principles under “What We Believe” and you’ll see what I mean.
There really is no “middle” on some issues, so instead, we take the position we like no matter what side it might fall on and find a way to get there.
Only one of many ‘problems’ I have with the moderates ……….
Too bad that there are not the original, 1912, 48 states. Too bad that the stars and stripes has not evolved to the ‘map and stripes’ with a 48 state white ‘blob’ on a blue field ……..
Ah… now I understand.
Yeah, any dummy can tell you there’s 57 of them!
“With the addition of the Delaware and Ohio chapters this will give the MWP 37 active state chapters out of 50 states.”
Am I the only one who thinks it is redundant to remind us just how many total states there are?
