Charlottesville VA: Libertarians Fight Restrictive “Sustainability” Regulations

From an email from Jefferson Area Libertarians chairman John Munchmeyer:

Please attend the Albemarle County Board of Supervisors meeting Wednesday, May 11, at 6:00 p.m. and speak against “Sustainable Development”

“Sustainable Development” encompasses an array of radical government actions including forced energy use reductions in homes, in order to stop global warming, etc.

Albemarle County, the City of Charlottesville, and UVA are all involved in these Orwellian programs.

Charlottesville signed the “U.S. Mayors Climate Protection Agreement” in July 2006 and

Albemarle signed the “U.S. Cool Counties Stabilization Declaration” in December 2007.

Please ask your supervisor to break all ties with ICLEI, unsign the above documents, and jettison any participation in activities related to UN Agenda 21.

“UN Agenda 21”:  The little known United Nations strategy for forcing extreme changes in human behavior in order to save the planet.

“ICLEI”: Local Governments for Sustainability.

“TJPDC”:  Thomas Jefferson Planning District Commission, a group receiving your hard-earned tax dollars to help implement this nonsense.

“Livable Communities”:  The new name for “Sustainable Development”, after people started to understand exactly what “Sustainable Development” entailed.

This video is a great resource on the subject:

Thank you!
