Horror novelist and Bangor radio station owner Stephen King announced on Tuesday a new talk radio show featuring a former vice presidential candidate and a former Maine secretary of state’s communications director.“We wanted to shake things up a little bit in the market,” King said…
Former journalist, Bangor Daily News columnist and gubernatorial candidate Pat LaMarche will be joined on the show by Don Cookson, a former reporter and communications director under Secretary of State Matt Dunlap.
LaMarche, who was the vice presidential candidate in 2004 under Ralph Nader for the Green Party, said the show would target politicians and public officials in Augusta and Washington, D.C., who push around Maine residents, especially those struggling with the welfare system.
“Nothing is more fun than standing up to a bully,” LaMarche said. “There’s an awful lot of bullying going on out there right now.”
“We’re going to try to be informative. We’re gonna be provocative. We’re going to be amusing, and we’re going to try to be a positive community force,” King said.

Pat LaMarche is a great American Green Party Patriot!
I am a great fan of this brave, beautiful, intelligent Green Party Lady, Pat LaMarche.
Her dedication to the homeless, (if you haven’t read her book you owe it to yourself to buy it, and read this articulate, passionate story of a journey helping the most in need) Pat Lamarche’s dedication, and good humor is a testament to good will, and decency.
It always amazes me how many people know Pat LaMarche. One poll showed Pat LaMarche as the 3rd most famous Lady in Maine. Well, I can tell you, from personal experience, Pat’s good name extends far beyond Maine.
I am an Independent candidate for Braddock District Board of Supervisors this year in Fairfax County, Virginia.
We spent 12 hours going door to door today in Villa, Monument, and Eagle View precincts.
Sure enough, I had the good fortune to find other Pat LaMarche friends and admirers.
Pat’s new show will be fun!, and full of important content.

Congrats to Pat LaMarche on getting her radio show. She’s done a lot of good work for the Green Party. In 1998, she became the first woman in the history of the state of Maine to gain ballot access for a political party. She won ballot access for us again in 2006.
I didn’t see her at the Green Party’s recent Annual National Meeting at Alfred, but I did see her running mate David Cobb there. Cobb raised about $5,000 for the Green Party at the Saturday night fundraiser and he really gave a lot of encouragement to Cheri Honkala, who is running for Sheriff of Philadelphia as a Green.
Very few Greens care about playing Cobb-Nader anymore. Howie Hawkins is doing great work in the Green Party of New York, and he backed Nader in 2004. Jill Stein is doing great work in the Green Rainbow Party of Massachusetts, and she didn’t want to run a Presidential candidate at all in 2004. I backed Cobb in 2004, and I plan on working closely with both of them. Go Green!

The Stand was great. My favs were ‘Desperation’, ‘The Regulars’ (writing as Bachman), ‘Dreamcatcher’, & ‘1408’… The movie was ok.
‘Grey Matter’ was another good short story of his I enjoyed.
Didn’t see anything about King’s politics, only that he is a radio station owner. Maybe he has both liberal and conservative shows on his station?

Marnie Glickman worked for Senator Paul Wellstone? Well how about that? I worked (for free) for the campaign of Green Party candidate Brother Ray Tricomo. Who ran against Paul Wellstone. In fact I was in the TV studio where Ray Tricomo was in the debate. A week before the death of Senator Wellstone.
Yes, the Minnesota Green Party wanted to run a campaign against Senator Wellstone. It was one of the proudest moments of my life.

I had dealings with this woman when we were both National Green Party Delegates. She was mean, vindictive and of course, as you state a sell out.
Don’t Vote For Me LaMarche and Safe States Korn Cobb helped destroy the Green Party. It must be noted that Ralph Nader spoke of how the Dems attempted to corrupt him. With promises of funding lots of money to his pet non profits. He refused and was smeared and attacked.
David Cobb on the other hand has been working with his fav group, the PDA Progressive Democrats of America and traveling around doing speaking tours with his fav non profits, the Green Institute and now Move To Amend.
The Green Party is now irrelevant. Just like the way the corporate powers wanted it.
Oh well. Carry on. Build organize an opposition to the pro-war, corporate two party system. Like we really mean it.
