What: Third Party Presidential Debate

When: Sunday, November 4, 2012
Time: 7:30-9:30 p.m.

(Washington, D.C.) – The candidates* from four political parties – Gary Johnson (Libertarian), Jill Stein (Green), Virgil Goode (Constitution) and Rocky Anderson (Justice) – will meet for a two-hour debate on Sunday, November 4, 7:30 p.m. at Busboys and Poets restaurant located at 2021 14th St NW, Washington, DC 20009. Busboys and Poets is a well-known venue for frequent political, civic and cultural events.

The debate will be moderated by Ralph Nader, and will focus on subjects and issues that have largely been ignored or avoided, as they are too controversial, by the 2012 Republican and Democratic presidential candidates.

The questions and exchanges in the Obama/Romney debates have been cautiously circumscribed, predictable, scripted and repetitious.

Having experienced the challenges, obstacles and exclusions from ballots and debates as a third-party and independent presidential candidate, Mr. Nader is aware of how the conventional taboos and censorship produced by a two-party duopoly diminishes the political environment. This debate will highlight little-discussed major topics, redirections and citizen empowerments which reflect widespread popular interest, either by way of support or opposition.

Political debates should not be rationed. They should become more numerous, innovative and extend beyond the narrow routine of the Commission on Presidential Debates (CPD), created in 1987. The CPD is still captured by the Republican and Democratic Parties, memorialized through a written, exclusive agreement every four years between the two candidates.

The event is open to media only. An RSVP is requested to Ralph Nader at info@nader.org or 202-387-8034.

* Gary Johnson was an entrepreneur before being elected to two terms as governor of New Mexico from 1995-2003. Jill Stein was a practicing, Harvard-trained physician, former candidate for local and state offices, and a successful author. Virgil Goode was a member of the U.S. House of Representatives from 1997-2009. Rocky Anderson was Mayor of Salt Lake City for two terms (2000 – 2008) and a practicing civil rights lawyer.

This could be a tough forum for Johnson. If Nader is selecting the issues and setting the tone it could work out very well for Stein and Anderson since they would seem to me to be closest to Nader on the political spectrum. As for Goode… fugedabudit!

I found the answer to my question there are two more debates I thought that there was only one.

  3. Gary Johnson Needs You !

If it doesn’t get on a national TV channel it will do very little to help. The friggin media has blackballed all 4 of these candidates (except for the usual five minutes or single article strongly voicing they have NO chance of winning) and Nader should realize they won’t give much if any positive media. The major media is a lapdog for the WAR Machine and those who own it !!! LINKTV, RT , FSTV (all) or Someone else needs to step up and get it up on the satellites at least so more of the masses might learn some truth this cycle !

I for one hope Jill Stein is successful as that will mean Obamas base has moved away from him. Remember WE WIN if the winner falls under 50% (of the ones who bother to vote) so they can’t claim some type of mandate. Under 50% means we can fight them from day one on their corruption in which we disagree !

Johnson, Stein, Goode, Anderson and all others are pulling votes from the duopoly and we (all alternative Parties) can take advantage of a less than 50% victory.

PLEASE get all Gary Johnson signs put up on busy roads in your area and place his bouchures out. Walking a precinct and asking people to vote for a specific candidate has been proven to be the best way to increase vote totals ! If you don’t have time to walk a precinct then place them on cars in parking lots and/or in waiting rooms (doctors, dentist, hospitals, repair shops, etc.) . Take along your LP literature and kill two birds with one stone (trip) ! It’s NOW or never. PLEASE don’t let any GJ material go to waste, get it out. Thanks.

Ralph Nader will have insightful and in some cases hard questions for all the candidates. If you have kept up with what Ralph Nader you’ll know he is not an ideological person.

It’ll be very interesting even if it is only avb livestreamed.
