Libertarian State Conventions, January-June 2014

Here are the upcoming state LP conventions I have been able to find through a combination of an email from Joe Buchman to the platform committee (no meeting times yet set) that I was forwarded, state pages linked via http://www.lp.org/states and the event calendar at http://www.lp.org/event. Please post additions and corrections in the comments.

    How about Richmond for a LP convention?

    2014 LPVA State Convention – All LPVA members are hereby invited to attend the Regular State Convention on February 8, 2014! This is is our normal business convention and please note that the agenda *may* include whether to formally endorse a Libertarian candidate for U.S. Senate. The convention will be held in Richmond, Virginia, beginning at 9:00 a.m.

    I’ve removed May 17.18 from consideration for a Platform Committee meeting. That leaves April 5, 6 and May 3, 4 as the leading candidates for dates.

    Kentucky is March 1st – Just decided today, still working on website and whatnot.

    I’ve also just eliminated Indianapolis — apparently the Indy 500 is a month-long event now, with multiple weekend races, and high hotel rates.

    FYI, I just sent the following to the Platform Committee:

    Based on other feedback, I’m going to list May 10, 11 as not an option
    (due to Mother’s Day).

    At this point the dates I’m considering are:

    April 5, 6

    May 3, 4

    May 17, 18

    Cities are

    Las Vegas

    Chicago

    Indianapolis

    Orlando

    Salt Lake City

    Nashville

    I also have an email into Robert Kraus asking about the dates for the
    (likely rescheduled) March LNC meeting.

    My requests:

    If you have a conflict, or are aware of a conflict, with any of the
    above three weekend dates, please let me know.

    If you have a proposal for one of the above cities (local contact for
    free meeting room; state party organization that would like to help
    with housing/transportation, etc) let me know asap.

    I spoke with Tennessee Chair, Jim Tomasik today. The Tennessee State Convention has been changed to Saturday, March 15th.
