The results of the Democratic convention show that the party wants to stake out its position on the hard left of the political spectrum – the problem being that this is not where most voters in Massachusetts actually are.
It’s important to remember that a convention hall full of political establishment delegates does not represent the views of the majority of voters in Massachusetts, and by that I don’t just mean Independent voters. The reason for my campaign is the public’s weariness with this outdated, polarized Left-Right debate that focuses more on positions and sound bites that just do not fit our modern times anymore, and that leave the large mass of voters unrepresented. I look forward to debating the party nominees, and making our United Independent Party case for a fresh, new framework for leadership based on real, meaningful, practical ideas – not the tired old ideological divides that belong to an earlier time.
