(The following was sent to me from Michael Creekmore. Creekmore is a young Justice Party activist from Orlando, Florida.)
My name is Michael Creekmore. I would like to announce that I am that I am going to run for mayor of Orlando, Florida as a member of the Justice Party. I want help get homeless people off the streets. Setting up more housing programs is 1 way as is the Raise the Wage Campaign.
Under the pillar of Economic Justice, the Justice Party envisions a world where all people are provided with opportunities for prosperity; poverty is eliminated; the “middle class” is thriving; and our economy is appropriately regulated so that all members of society are treated fairly. By participating in this collaborative campaign, we will raise awareness, inspire, organize, mobilize and engage people of broad diversity to reduce income inequality. I want to push for equal rights.
Creekmore is also an advocate of the legalization of marijuana, citing a recent Gallup poll. “A Gallup poll released on Tuesday reveals that for the first time in history, Americans are more in favor of legalizing marijuana than criminalizing it. 2013 has markedly been a successful year for marijuana legalization, with Colorado and Washington both passing laws to decriminalize the drug. Now, 58 percent of Americans are in favor allowing the plant to be legal. With the majority of Americans agreeing that marijuana should be legalized, we’ve gathered up eight reasons why those who are still on the fence about the natural plant should possibly reconsider their feelings. It’s time to legalize.”
