Full Video of Gary Johnson Speech at Phoenix Rally 10-01-16

From an article by Kody Fairfield in The Libertarian Republic

Apparently, there were two notable events:

The first incident occurred about eleven minutes into Johnson’s speech, when he was speaking to the polarization in Congress and how the election of the Republican’s Donald Trump or the Democrats Hillary Clinton would not make it a more functional governing body, a heckler wearing a Trump 2016 shirt jumped on stage to Johnson’s right.

Only on stage for a few seconds, the heckler was heard saying “Trump 2016 right here everybody!” Johnson turned to look at the gentleman, and began to laugh. He responded by telling the crowd to, ” give him his due, that is about the biggest piece of bullsh** that I have ever heard.” He then joked with the crowd, ” Thank you, that guy and I had breakfast earlier; don’t hurt him going out of here, that was planned…” Johnson then grinned and said, “I’m just kidding.”

The heckler allowed the people to see a bit of Johnson’s personality, it gave them a real moment into who he was. It showed that he could handled being ruffled a bit, and still have the levity and comedic timing to add some humor into a situation which to some may be awfully frustrating or worrisome.

The second incident was a bit more revealing of the candidate’s character:

The second incident which occurred about 8 minutes later, happened to be a bit more serious, but it put on display Johnson’s genuine self, and his humanity.

One of his supporters, a lady named Heather Salyer, who was standing almost directly in front of the stage fainted. Johnson not wasting anytime to assist her, stopped his speech and stepped down from the stage to help the fallen supporter. He husband, Mark Salyer, took to his FaceBook, to talk about the incident, saying:

It was so nice to meet a man who cares about people than politics. Gary Johnson has a great vision for this country and a true passion for the people of this country.

My beautiful wife got so hot during his rally we were at that she fainted toward the end of Gov Johnson’s talk, hitting her head on the stage. This man stopped his speech, and came off the stage to Heather’s side to make sure she was ok. I could see true concern in his eyes. Heather was so embarrassed, and he said don’t worry about it and gave her a hug. We had four nurses (thank you all) at her side in seconds. We left a full ballroom and Heather was checked out by a great team from Phoenix Fire Department. Heather is sore, bruised and embarrassed, but is feeling better. Thank you to everyone who stopped to check on her at the rally.

On the way home I was thinking about Johnson stopping his speech and checking on my wife with true concern. Would Trump do this, I think he would insult and keep talking, Clinton would keep talking and use it to segue into healthcare. This is another reason I can vote for this man and feel good about it.

    Good second story.

I just watched the entire thing. I liked it. Gary is much better at this type of speaking than short, debate answers. I’m back to “on the fence.”

I completely support Gary;s positions on immigration and non-intervention.

The POTUS race is not a trivia test. I guarantee that I could ask Trump, Clinton and each of those talking heads some simple US government related questions and – put them in a glass booth – none of them would get the answer.

  4. Tony From Long Island Tony From Long Island October 3, 2016

I know Trump would not be able – he really is a clown, but you have to say, Clinton is pretty knowledgeable about wonky stuff.

You can disagree with her policy issues – and I do on several – but you can’t put her on the same level as Payaso Trump when it comes to knowledge of government stuff.

She prepares well for her interviews. But, we know from her emails that her team makes condidtions on reporters including suggesting topics, previewing questions, pre-empting other topics and questions so that she always looks sharp.

Without those precautions, she’d come up against topics she wasn’t prepared to answer. Of course, she’d pivot to a different topic to avoid embarrassment – a tactic Gary has been too honest to employ.

All I know is she is like many other 69 year olds – computer clueless.

It’s more like that she doesn’t WANT to answer rather than she doesn’t know the answers to.

In “interviews” when Hillary talks about government policy, or international issues, there are no surprise questions. She won’t do interviews with journalists unless they agree to terms set by her team. They pre-screen questions and prohibit undesireable topics in advance. It’s SOP for team Hillary. Without those limitations she could easliy be blindsided. (I’m not talking about her email or other scandals.)

Well Sunday’s debate is town hall. The candidates don’t have the questions in advance. I’m sure she will do just fine. She’s no fool (just foolish!)

Also, I am skeptical that ALL of her interviews come with preconditions. Any credible source for that?

  9. Be Rational Be Rational October 4, 2016

There are numerous examples, if you wish to goggle them. No one could claim “all” of her interviews come with such pre-conditions, and we should expect most such transactions to be well hidden and denied by the media. However, there’s enough evidence to conclude that it’s SOP with all the Clinton’s. HRC’s refusale to have a press conference where such conditions are not possible for 6 months duringa presidential campaign also confirms her need for control to avoid questions she hasn’t prepared for in advance.

Town Hall type events have screened attendees, sreened questions and pre-screened private citizens are unlikely to come up with any gotcha questions.

I was in the audience of one such event, invited at the last minute, but I was physically prevented from asking questions. The chosen audience members who asked questions?- Sure it looks spontaneous on TV, but those of us in the audience could see they had been pre-selected and the rest were prevented from reaching a live microphone – off camera, of course.

“…revealed that Politico’s chief White House correspondent, Mike Allen, promised to deliver positive coverage of Chelsea Clinton, and, in a separate exchange, permitted Reines to ghost-write an item about the State Department for Politico’s Playbook newsletter. Ambinder’s emails with Reines demonstrate the same kind of transactional reporting, albeit to a much more legible degree: In them, you can see Reines “blackmailing” Ambinder into describing a Clinton speech as “muscular” in exchange for early access to the transcript. In other words, Ambinder outsourced his editorial judgment about the speech to a member of Clinton’s own staff.”

    3 [conditions] actually

    1) You in your own voice describe them as “muscular”

    2) You note that a look at the CFR seating plan shows that all the envoys — from Holbrooke to Mitchell to Ross — will be arrayed in front of her, which in your own clever way you can say certainly not a coincidence and meant to convey something

    3) You don’t say you were blackmailed!

    One minute later, Ambinder responded:

This Is How Hillary Clinton Gets the Coverage She Wants

There’s a lot available if you google around a bit.

Interesting, but she has been giving impromptu news conferences on her plane for the last month or so. It’s actually Trump who has avoided press conferences. Shocking for such a media whore.

  12. Be Rational Be Rational October 6, 2016

Another example in the news today:

“Leaked memo shows Clinton was provided questions ahead of interview”

“Hillary Clinton was provided the exact questions she would be asked by daytime talk show host Steve Harvey, according to a report.

The Washington Free Beacon reports that according to a leaked memo it obtained, the program sent the Clinton campaign all questions one week before the interview between Clinton and Harvey on Feb. 17. “
