About the Vote Different initiative from their website:
#VoteDifferent is a McAfee/Weiss initiative designed and evolving with one purpose in mind: to empower and promote Liberty and Libertarian candidates. During the 2016 campaign to be the Libertarian Party nominee, John McAfee, became increasingly alarmed as he met and spoke with more and more Libertarians. While every single person was passionate about the cause of Liberty, most also had more to say. They are frustrated, both by the lack of results and the lack of effective support. Infrastructure, technology, tools, resources, and training are far behind where we need to be.
THE LIBERTARIAN PARTY HAS MORE POTENTIAL THAN EVER. BUT TO SUCCEED AT OUR GOALS WE NEED MORE INNOVATION, BETTER TECHNOLOGY, AND AN EMPOWERED COMMUNITY.
The Republican and Democratic parties provide vast resources and guidance to all of their candidates. From Campaign Finance and Management Colleges to online libraries and communities for digital activists, a candidate that wants to run with one of those parties will have access to a wealth of resources.
We are simply not competing. We cannot hope to compete with money, so instead we must tap our other abilities. We can be smarter, more nimble and more resilient than either of the other parties. And we can make ourselves far, far more attractive than either major party could ever hope to be.
UNDER JOHN’S DIRECTION, OUR TEAM HAS MOBILIZED. WE ARE NOT TALKING OR PROMISING. WE ARE EXECUTING.
Our mission is simple. Determine the needs, identify what exists, and start finding ways to quickly, economically and elegantly fill the gap. By pooling community talent and knowledge and building on the foundation that already exists, this revolutionary approach is essential if our goal is to compete successfully this year and beyond.
Nothing will fall into our laps, and nothing is owed to us. If we want Liberty Now we will have to work, think and act as we never have before. If we do we have a fighting chance of getting America to #VoteDifferent in 2016.
