One candidate, JOE BUCHMAN of Alpine Utah, filed with the Lieutenant Governor’s Office to seek the Libertarian Party of Utah’s nomination at convention. See:

Delegates (paid members of the Libertarian Party of Utah prior to May 11th) will choose between Buchman and NOTA (None Of The Above). Under both State and National Party Bylaws, NOTA is required as an option. The Libertarian Platform calls for all governments to include NOTA as an option on all ballots in every election.)
Note: Executive and Central Committee Business meetings, as well as a Utah County Organizing event will occur prior to the nominating convention (2:30 to 4:00) and Utah LP Fundraising dinner will follow (5:00 to 6:15).
Nomination for what?
Tony – Rep. Chaffetz has indicated he is resigning his position in Congress, so there will be a special election for his seat in the House of Representatives. That is what Mr Buchman is running for.
Chafetz seat in Congress.
I knew about Rep. Chaffetz. This article did not specify what the nomination was for . . . but I do now put the first sentence in context. Ok. Got it 🙂
On the fundraising dinner menu
“salade sans rien”
Why?
Because Libertarians want . . .
I encourage those interested to visit the URL mentioned above. I find it relevant relative to ABAFT’s comment in the July 2017 Open Thread. The web site is much lighter than most Libertarian web sites on text. It also prominently have a photo page with plenty of pictures of the candidate smiling. It also has a “What is the L” page that frames libertarianism based on love and caring.

I won out over NOTA.
The Libertarian Party of Utah will file the appropriate paperwork with the State of Utah tomorrow.
I anticipate being the first of 20+ candidates currently running to qualify for the November ballot.
(All other partisan candidates will likely face primary opponents on August 15th. Those running unaffiliated have yet to have the 300 required signatures verified.)
