Nickolas Wildstar, Libertarian Candidate for Governor of CA, Issues Campaign Announcement

Hi! I’m Nickolas Wildstar and I’m running for Governor! California has been my home for over 18 years and during that time I’ve watched as the state went through extraordinary changes, both good and bad. But one thing that seems to have been consistent nationwide is the corporate takeover of America. The partnership of ‘Big Business’ and ‘Big Government’ has continually found a way to monetize our rights in the name of good. As great as their intentions may seem, bad laws are made that restricts the freedom and liberty of We The People.

In 2010, my home state of Wisconsin made it mandatory that every motorist purchases vehicle insurance. Up until this time, drivers were able to freely operate their vehicles and the state itself only recorded a fraction of the amount of automobile accidents compared to other states of its size. This new law didn’t become a requirement due to a drastic increase in accidents but was created for the mere reason of increasing profits for the industry. The auto insurance law does not make our streets safer and has not stopped accidents from happening in Wisconsin, or here in California, nor will it ever.

Neither the Republicans nor Democrats have brought an end to the trend of putting profits over people and has no desire to. The common practice of Wall Street lobbyists paying off politicians has become all too familiar and has even become law with bills like Citizens United which gives corporations permission to buy elections. Billions of dollars have been spent on political campaigns where the candidates promise to improve prosperity by fixing the economy, but their wasteful spending makes it obvious they’re more willing to put us deeper into debt. They will spare no expense to keep control of their power and our lives, therefore We The People must spare no expense to protect our freedom! Liberty comes at a cost and our forefathers knew this when they founded this country, created the United States Constitution, and fought tirelessly for its preservation.

The establishment only sees us as numbers and only understands numbers so in order for We The People to be heard we must begin to speak its language. Our nation’s third largest political party is the Libertarian party and with your membership it could grow very quickly to become number one! No other party is as dedicated to protecting each and every person’s individual inalienable right to life, liberty, and prosperity as the Libertarians and their party platform is proof of that. To put these principles into action more people need to register as a Libertarian, commit to help expanding the party as a volunteer, and of course most importantly start to ‘Vote Libertarian’ and support candidates that are running for office, such as myself. I am currently seeking people to join my campaign staff and volunteers to assist with raising the awareness of my candidacy so please help me with this cause.

I also am in need of funding and am accepting donations online through my CrowdPac and GoFundMe pages. Whether it’s $5, $20, $100, or $1000 all of your contributions are graciously appreciated and will be a priceless investment to #BringBackLiberty to the great state of California. In order for me to be able to give it all that I can I need for you to give whatever you can so please don’t hesitate to get involved. Visit my website NOW!

Long Live Liberty!

Mr. Wildstar is running for governor of CA as a Libertarian, as well as Zoltan Istvan. I’ve met both men, and they both should make good candidates. Nickolas spoke at one of our meetings, and is quite personable.

There is apparently a third announced candidate for governor, but I haven’t seen anything from him yet,

  2. Aiden James

So of course it’s now likely that there’s zero chance either of them will make it into the general. The last thing Libs should do is split their vote in a top-2 state.

If a libertarian candidate had any chance of making the top 2 I might agree with not splitting the ballot but…

ah think if you have two personable candidates out actively stomping for the nomination your are doubling the interactions that might help grow the CALP.

I agree with Steve. There’s no way we’ll be anywhere near the top two on the ballot, who will most likely be Democrats. Both our candidates have a lot to offer, and should g3et positive attention to the party.

Today there is new hope for getting rid of California’s top-two, but not in time for the 2018 election. Governor Brown signed SB 568, which all primaries from June to the first week in March. The Ninth Circuit, when it upheld Washington state’s top-two, said it is just a “slight burden” on minor parties to be barred from the general election ballot because being on in August is almost as good, because August is “near the peak” of voter interest in the election. But the Ninth Circuit said it would be entirely different if the primary were in March. Bingo!

Would it too much to ask to find a candidate to run for the Libertarian nomination for Governor who’s actually a… well.. you know… *libertarian*? I guess the only lesson CA is taking from the Johnson/Weld Republi-lite fiasco is to find nutballs out of left field to run for Governor. What a shame, and what a lost opportunity. I don’t see a Libertarian candidate in CA I can vote for yet.
