Mark Cuban Tweets Justin Amash about Center for Competitive Democracy

Billionaire Mark Cuban, owner of the Dallas Mavericks and star of the ABC show Shark Tank, tweeted 2020 Libertarian Party presidential candidate Justin Amash yesterday about an organization Cuban funds called the Center for Competitive Democracy:

Check out competitivedemocracy.org it’s an organization I fund to help candidates get on ballots. We are here to help any and all independent candidates.

The tweet came in response to Amash’s tweet addressing the criticism he has received for possibly having “spoiler effect” on the 2020 election.  Amash thanked Cuban for his reply.

According to its website:

The Center for Competitive Democracy was founded in 2005 to strengthen American democracy by increasing electoral competition. CCD works to identify and eliminate barriers to political participation and to secure free, open and competitive elections by fostering active civic engagement in the political process.

Richard Winger of Ballot Access News is on the Board of Advisors for the organization.

Well, to be fair, it’s thanks to CCD that the Illinois lawsuit had the resolution it got in Libertarian Party of Illinois v. Pritzker.
