A tip of the hat to J. Mark Barfield for finding this story.
Pretty easy catch for me in particular, George:
1) I live a few miles from Newberry,
2) I’m also a (minor, appointed) official in the same county, and
3) I also changed my own voter registration to Forward the day the availability was announced (I was previously registered “No Party Affiliation,” having switched to that from “Libertarian” when the Republican “infiltrate and neuter” operatives took over the state’s LP).
Great catch, Tom.
The Forward Party just picked up its first mayor in Florida.
Guess what party he was with before?
After the Mises PAC takeover of the Libertarian Party of Florida, I changed my voter registration to “No Party Affiliation.”
Yesterday, I again changed it to “Forward Party.”
I’m not under any illusion that the Forward Party is an ideological libertarian party — Florida doesn’t have one of those anymore. But to the extent that Forward concentrates on a few decent priorities like ranked choice voting and getting rid of the gerrymander, it’s the best option I see for involvement in electoral politics at the moment.
