The Green Party of the United States will host its Annual National Meeting from August 3 to August 6, 2023. The event will be held entirely online due to the COVID-19 pandemic impacting the initial planning phase.
The Green Party is a political party that promotes green politics, environmentalism, social justice, anti-war policies, and eco-socialism. Current party co-chairs include Ahmed Eltouny, Christopher Stella, Rei Stone-Grover, Garret Wasserman, Margaret Elisabeth, Tamar Yager, and Anita Rios. As of last year, it has over 130 elected officials in local offices nationwide, according to its internal electoral database.
The Annual National Meeting traditionally allows party members to convene, hear from fellow supporters, and establish connections. Like in years past, the meeting will comprise workshops, organizing sessions, and candidate speeches spread across three days. The Green Party leadership actively accepted workshop proposals on the party website until yesterday, May 15, and final events have yet to be named. Speakers still need to be chosen; however, last year’s meeting featured a keynote address by Ballot Access expert Richard Winger.
The Green Party Annual National Meeting is not to be confused with the Green Party Presidential Nominating Convention, which will be held next year.
Registration for the Annual National Meeting is priced at $100. However, party members who cannot pay the full registration fee may pay reduced amounts in increments of $25. Additionally, those experiencing financial hardship may apply for a total registration fee waiver. Registration fees will include admission to all workshops and plenary sessions.
Event organizers will also provide resources to assist with accessibility, including those who are vision-impaired, hearing-impaired, or those who lack access to a computer or Internet connection. All members must register ahead of the event for further information. Independent Political Report will share further information as it becomes available.
BUT…it’s probably cheaper to do it virtually.

Weak excuse. Even if you didn’t start planning until 18 months ago when COVID condemning everything was no longer a thing, you could’ve made it work at a scaled level if you wanted to.
