Independent Political Report has received a letter from Mark Greenstein regarding the Constitution Party seeking “Provisional Nominees,” including those for President and cabinet officials, ahead of its April nominating convention. The letter reads as follows:
Hello —
Several of you saw that the Constitution Party is soliciting “Provisional Nominees” to be in a mild “spotlight” for the next six month.
I’m facilitating. I remain a fervent “small l” libertarian and a convinceable Libertarian. I think ALL parties who are on the “outs” should coalesce at the Presidential and Gubernatorial levels in 2024. Getting Dems and Repubs OUT of governance, or at least being though of as “no better” than any of our challenging parties, is a good mission.
Thus I’m printing for all Libertarians, the possibility of having each of you who will challenge for a seat in ’24, ’25, or ’26, the chance to be a provisional candidate until CP’s April Nominations.
I am a conduit, but you may also reach to CP Chair Jim Clymer directly.
In Liberty,
Mark G

Re: Provisional national nominations, October – April
The Party would like to make a bigger and earlier presence on the national stage. We are thus committed to putting forth a Presidential Candidate and five or more would-be Cabinet members or Executive Appointees starting next weekend.
These nominations are PROVISIONAL. The Party delegates will have a true selection for each of these posts at its April convention.
Delegates can then nominate Provisional nominees to continue as true nominees; delegates can instead select others to succeed some of our Provisional nominees; and Provisional nominees themselves can opt to not continue beyond April.
This strategy yields at least two benefits:
More attention by media and More heft for Provisional candidates who are seeking state/local spots in ’24 and ’26.
Better ballot access and more donations are other contemplated benefits.
Candidates who carry Constitution Party principles seeking ANY executive post, provisionally or long-run, should place their names with either me or Mark Stewart Greenstein, who is helping all of us align, by Wednesday at 9:59pm eastern. Please give your desired positions (there are over 50 to choose from) and how flexible you are. If you have a desired state/local post for ’24 or ’26, please include that too.
Should two of us be seeking the same provisional postings, Mark or I will “massage” our offering to accommodate all. Should two who are INFLEXIBLE seek the same post, the Executive Committee will make a decision that’s good for six months.
Mark’s email is [email protected]. (Though not yet a CP member, with six or more of us provisionally committed, Mark will add himself to the roster with us.) He is willing to speak on Monday night with all who have questions, via Zoom.us at 9pm eastern using code 493 610 6872. No password is needed.
Mark and I have shared some preliminary thoughts. We are including these names to make this more vivid. None of those named below have entered a commitment yet. We ALL have until Wednesday night.
President: Darrell Castle (TN)
Attorney General: Joe Miller (AK)
HHS Secretary: Therrisa Bukinovac (MD)
Education Secretary: Mark Stewart Greenstein (CT)
U.S. Trade Representative: Mark Anderson (CT)
