Massachusetts Libertarians will have the opportunity to select from five presidential candidates in the party’s upcoming primary, which is scheduled to take place on Super Tuesday.
In an email exchange between the leadership of the Libertarian Association of Massachusetts and Independent Political Report, the Association confirmed that five Libertarian Party presidential candidates will appear on the primary ballot scheduled for March 5, 2024. These candidates include Jacob Hornberger, Mike Ter Maat, Chase Oliver, Michael Rectenwald, and Lars Mapstead.
According to the Libertarian Association of Massachusetts, these five candidates were the only ones who reported campaign funds with the Federal Election Commission by the time party leadership was required to file.
The Libertarian Association of Massachusetts is one of two Libertarian parties active in Massachusetts due to a leadership dispute that first originated in late 2021. The party is recognized by the Massachusetts Secretary of the Commonwealth’s office but is not the recognized state affiliate of the Libertarian National Committee, which it voted to disaffiliate from on June 5, 2022.
