The United States Section of the International Marxist Tendency announced the formation of a new political party over the weekend. The new organization is called the Revolutionary Communists of America and is part of the organization’s broader mission.
Supporters of the Revolutionary Communists of America shared details of the new party in an X video on Sunday evening. The video features several organizers discussing various policy demands of the RCA and what ultimately prompted them to organize a new group, citing frustration with lawmakers like Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez and Senator Bernie Sanders.
“The time for reformist tinkering is long gone; we need to fight for the complete overthrow of capitalism. We need to organize for a socialist revolution in our lifetime,” declared one supporter. “The next ten or twenty years will look nothing like the last eighty, and we need to prepare. The burning task of our generation is to organize these tens and millions of communists into a united political force,” added another.

At current, the website only features the announcement video and a link to the Socialist Revolution, which serves as the official publication of the United States Section of the International Marxist Tendency. According to the Socialist Revolution website, the movement is based on the ideas of Marx, Engels, Lenin, and Trotsky and is centered around class independence. “We are actively building a national organization of trained Marxist cadres to fight in the broader movement for a revolutionary socialist program,” the organization states.
Additionally, the Socialist Revolution website outlines several key policy issues important to the organization’s program. Beyond organizing a new party, these include equal rights for all, affordable housing, and universal healthcare, as well as more revolutionary topics such as support for a worldwide revolution, rebuilding the labor movement through militant class struggle, and ending unemployment through a twenty-hour work-week with a national minimum wage of $1,250 per week. A more comprehensive list of policy positions can be found on the organization’s website.
Before Sunday’s announcement, the United States Section of the International Marxist Tendency was already active in several dozen locations, predominantly along the Midwest and the East Coast.
The Revolutionary Communists of America has not specified whether it plans to field electoral candidates, as similar communist organizations have, or if it will focus solely on influencing policy and organizing around a worker’s revolution.

Apologies from our end for any commenting issues.
The past week has seen an uptick in DDoS attacks, resulting in several site outages. Cloudflare thankfully provides a screenshot of the site during outages so people can still view the immediate articles, but commenting during those periods led our moderation queue to do weird things (most likely because of the heightened security features currently on). A lot of things were getting incorrectly flagged as spam (including admin comments), leading to instances like yours. It sounds like our host is close to permanently resolving everything, though!
Innnteresting. Originally, the website showed it had “eaten” my first comment, not put it in the moderation queue … sigh.
Apparently so.
Really?
First, I think the PSL is already Trots.
Can’t we have a full-tankie Stalinist Communist Party in Merika? Or, a Maoist one like the old Shining Path in Peru?
Second, do we really (in part riffing again on “Doh” on the Liberal Party) need another leftist party in an already factionalized and fractionalized landscape?
The PSL is Trots already, IIRC. Can’t we get a Stalinist-based true tankie Communist party? Or something Maoist based, like Shining Path in Peru?
