Five presidential candidates met in New York City on Thursday evening for a presidential debate organized by the Free & Equal Elections Foundation. The event marked Free & Equal’s second presidential debate of the 2024 election cycle.
In February, Free & Equal announced that it had invited seven candidates to participate in the debate. Ultimately, five candidates took part, including Party for Socialism and Liberation nominee Claudia de la Cruz, Green Party candidates Jill Stein and Jasmine Sherman, and Libertarian Party candidates Chase Oliver and Lars Mapstead. Independent candidates Dr. Cornel West and Robert F. Kennedy Jr. were also invited but did not participate in yesterday’s debate.
The debate was moderated by Free & Equal’s Christina Tobin, along with Jason Palmer from Chelsea Television Studios in New York City, and OANN correspondent Caitlin Sinclair. It was broadcast on several media outlets, including C-SPAN, Rumble, the Epoch Times, and others. Following the debate, Free & Equal began conducting a poll on its website to gauge public opinion on the debate’s winner.
