The Free and Equal Elections Foundation will host its third presidential debate of the 2024 cycle this Friday as part of FreedomFest. The debate will feature Libertarian nominee Chase Oliver, Constitution Party nominee Randall Terry, and Green Party candidate Dr. Jill Stein.
The debate will air live this Friday at FreedomFest, which is taking place in Las Vegas, Nevada. It will take place from 5:00 PM PST/8:00 PM EST to 7:00 PM PST/10:00 PM EST at Caesar’s Forum. Republican Congressman Thomas Massie of Kentucky will co-moderate the debate along with Christina Tobin, founder and president of the Free and Equal Elections Foundation.
According to information provided by Free and Equal, seven candidates were initially invited to participate. In addition to Oliver, Terry, and Stein, organizers invited Democratic President Joe Biden, Republican former President Donald Trump, and independent candidates Robert F. Kennedy Jr. and Dr. Cornel West. However, they are not expected to attend the debate. The specific participation criteria candidates had to meet included being constitutionally eligible to serve as President and either having secured ballot access in enough states to have a mathematical chance of securing a majority in the Electoral College or receiving more than two percent in a national poll meeting the Foundation’s polling standards.
Independent Political Report, along with Outsider Media Foundation, is proud to be a member of the Free and Equal Open Debates Coalition. Editorial team member Joe Buchman will also be in attendance. As part of our mission to platform news and information on American third parties and independent candidate activity, IPR will host an open thread to allow readers an opportunity to share their thoughts while watching the debate.

“Oliver performed better than expected: a smooth and charismatic speaker, much more so than some of his previous appearances such as at the LNC, at the previous F&E debate or on talk shows and podcasts, unfortunately that is a completely superficial veneer painted over so very much dishonesty, and cracked by his visual presentation.”
Even if his libertarianism is inauthentic, he isn’t the first Libertarian to learn how to mouth the right answers.
Very interesting debate I hear they are going to be holding one in September hopefully Kennedy will show up. In regards to there poll on who one the debate currently Stein is ahead by around 20 votes.
Final verdict:
– Terry performed as expected: too sweet, patient and easy going, not critical enough one half of the uniparty, and wrong to think Communism is less of a danger than Islam even now, but far and away the only conscionable candidate there.
– Oliver performed better than expected: a smooth and charismatic speaker, much more so than some of his previous appearances such as at the LNC, at the previous F&E debate or on talk shows and podcasts, unfortunately that is a completely superficial veneer painted over so very much dishonesty, and cracked by his visual presentation.
– Stein performed worse than I could possibly have imagined: constant antisemitic blood libels, constant climate hoax lies, and just when might have started looking up for her, she comes out in support of the Iranian Revolution, ergo both Sharia and Communism. Smh.
– Christina Tobin is not a great public speaker, but she gave it the old college try, so good on her.
– Thomas Massie was also there. Lol. No really, he just sort of existed. He gave a good intro and an even better outro. And in between he was a part of the furniture, even while asking questions.
Feedback:
– Turn off those mics. No hot mics. Please, it is distracting.
– Don’t talk over your sponsor. Unless you don’t want to be sponsored by them again, in which case go for it.
– Sort out audio bugs. Microphone failure can always happen, but there should be immediate replacement mics at the ready.
– Hook up the mics in such a way as to minimize picking up the live audience.
– Use a testing sound for the stream that is not an uninterrupted shrill whining beep.
– The anthem is a state symbol. A eulogy of the country and its people. An expression of patriotism and reverence. It doesn’t have to different and experimental.
– The audience voting requires a telephone number. There are no alternatives. Not only is that a privacy violation which will skew the ideological types that will vote regardless, but it doesn’t even prevent fraud as there is no system in place protecting against digital, generated or dynamic phone numbers.
In conclusion:
Hey at least it was better than the February F&E presidential debate.
And now the debaters are also hot mic-ing over each other and over the moderators… Suggestion for next F&E debate: cut mics whenever it is not someone’s turn to speak. Not to silence people going over time or speaking out turn, per se, but to avoid this.
Oliver continues to speak very well, the problem that every other word that comes out of his mouth is a falsehood and the rest hinge on these lies being true. Unfortunate. And the way he keeps trying to make eye contact with the camera and force his body language and facial expression, is not doing anything to make seem more genuine or sincere. Like a used car salesman. *shudder*
Wow, Stein actually says something sensible regarding investigating the Wuhan lab leak. Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaand she immediately falls short of the other two on that too.
And Terry just continues to be an out-of-control wrecking ball of basedness.
Hang-on, wtf did Stein just say about His Imperial Majesty Reza Shah?!
Stop, Terry, stop! You’re not supposed to also destroy the moderators.
For all his stand-up comedy routing antics, Terry is the only one on stage who is making even a single iota of sense. And that includes the moderators. Meanwhile, Oliver is speaking sweet lies but obvious ones. And I don’t know what Stein is doing, but it is so painful to listen to her that it is making me physically cringe. Every time she opens her mouth I am tempted to mute the stream. Which is the same reaction I had to Biden and Trump on the CNN debate and ter Maat on the LNC debate.
Also, whoever keeps whispering on a hot mic – presumably the moderators, since her mic went out – Just don’t.
Wow, they actually talked over the sponsor’s ad. Bold.
I didn’t expect either Biden or Trump to have the courage to show up, but it’s disappointing that Kennedy and West aren’t up there on stage either, especially since both are “featured speakers” at FreedomFest.
Terry already destroying them with his introduction. Yowzers!
Why can’t they ever just have a normal rendition of the anthem, if they need on at all, instead of some weird modern artsy cover? This isn’t as bad the infamous Fergie version at the NBA all-stars game, but it’s worse than the testing sound – from which my ears are still ringing btw.
Updated to include the YouTube stream just in time. Thanks, everyone!
Ten times as many people watching on Rumble as on YouTube. You love to see it. I wish they hadn’t started off the show by given me tinnitus with their testing sound though.
The debate is also live on YouTube and expected to begin in the next ten minutes.

I believe I’ll pass. Nobody to the left of Stein and her hypocritical investments will be there. (Apologies if this is a semi-duplicate comment.) https://socraticgadfly.blogspot.com/2024/07/a-head-fake-debate-pushed-by-jill-stein.html
