Green Party of Colorado Launches Statewide “Green Spring” Initiative

The Green Party of Colorado will host a series of events throughout the state this year as part of its new “Green Spring” initiative. The party intends to use these meetings to directly connect with state residents while supporting local and state candidates.

In a press release shared with Independent Political Report, the GPCO stated that Green Spring would begin in March and continue each month into June. The party is focusing on several local communities, including Boulder, Colorado Springs, Grand Junction, and others. The party does not have specific dates yet but will add more information to its website in the coming weeks.

As part of Green Spring, the GPCO is also collecting signatures for a petition calling for Governor Jared Polis to declare a climate emergency. The party announced last December that it would focus on several key issues throughout 2025, including urging Polis to declare a state of emergency in response to the “growing threat of climate change.”

Green Party of Colorado Launches “Green Spring” Across Colorado

The Green Party of Colorado will hold seven spring events statewide from March to June 2025, aiming to revitalize grassroots democracy through voter engagement and political empowerment. The initiative seeks to:

  • Reconnect with existing members while introducing Green values to new audiences
  • Support future Green candidates for local/state offices
  • Advance our platform prioritizing people over corporate interests and corruption-free governance
  • Collect petition signatures calling on Governor Jared Polis to issue a climate emergency

“We believe in the power of grassroots democracy, and this spring, we’re putting those words into action,” said Patrick Dillon, Co-chair of the Green Party of Colorado. “Our mission is to create a Colorado that puts people over corporate profits and we do that by demanding a corruption free democracy.”

The events will feature party leadership and special guests like Lafayette Councilman Tim Barnes (G), visiting:

  • Boulder
  • Colorado Springs
  • Denver
  • Fort Collins
  • Grand Junction
  • Greeley
  • Pueblo

Details about dates, venues, and volunteer opportunities will be updated at www.cogreens.org.

The Colorado Green Party is a distant fifth party in Colorado, barely 1/5 of the LPCO, with small enclaves only in Denver and Boulder and even less in Fort Collins and Colorado Springs.

This effort of theirs is insignificant and will be a waste of their time.

“Green Spring” – because the “Green New Deal” and the “Arab Spring” already proved to be so popular with the masses in whose names they were peddled… U+1F923

“As part of Green Spring, the GPCO is also collecting signatures for a petition calling for Governor Jared Polis to declare a climate emergency.”

LMAO. Polis is absolutely awful, but at least he isn’t Green Party awful…

Hey, maybe Harlos can join them, they seem much more her speed than the LPCO.
