Green Party Reschedules “Dump the Duopoly” Rally for July 10

The Green Party of the United States has rescheduled its Dump the Duopoly, Power Up for Peace virtual rally for the evening of Thursday, July 10. The event was originally planned for May but was postponed due to last-minute scheduling conflicts and a family health emergency involving one of the speakers.

“Thank you so much for everything you’ve done to bring us to this perfect storm for political change,” the party stated in an announcement on Monday. “We’re thrilled to announce our Dump Duopoly rally has been rescheduled for July 10 at 8 PM ET! And with the stakes higher than ever, we’re coming back stronger, more fired up, and ready to build the future we deserve.”

According to details shared by the party, the upcoming event will center on strategies to challenge the two-party system, build people-powered movements, and advocate for policies aimed at justice, sustainability, and peace. Scheduled speakers include the party’s 2024 presidential ticket of Dr. Jill Stein and Professor Butch Ware, along with Briahna Joy Gray and Medea Benjamin.

“While the Trump administration wages war on people and planet, Democrats are busy bowing to Republicans,” Stein said in promotional material for the rally. “With Democrats like Chuck Schumer playing performative politics by just changing the name of the ‘Big Beautiful Bill’ but not actually fighting to keep it from passing, it’s clear that an actual opposition party is more urgently needed and more possible than ever”

The event will be held online and is free to attend with advanced registration through the Green Party’s website. It is scheduled to run from 8:00 PM to 9:30 PM EST. As of this article, more than 600 people had signed up to participate.
