North Carolina Forward Party Hosting Town Hall With Newly Elected Affiliate Members

The North Carolina Forward Party is hosting a virtual town hall event next month featuring two local Forward-aligned officials elected in November from the city of Concord.

According to details shared by the party, the discussion is scheduled for December 2 at 7:00 PM EST and is expected to last one hour. The event will focus on “conversation, strategy, and community” with newly elected Concord Mayor Steve Morris and City Council member Alvarys Santana. A representative from the national Forward Party will also participate, though the party has not yet identified who will speak.

The expected agenda includes an overview of the North Carolina Forward Party’s plans for the 2026 election cycle, a review of its recent organizational progress, a question-and-answer session with local Forward leaders, and additional topics. A public meeting link has not been released. The party is providing access information to individuals who register in advance through its website.

Morris and Santana are two of 18 candidates endorsed by the national Forward Party who won their elections on November 4. The party had endorsed 56 candidates ahead of the general election, including five in North Carolina. Three of those candidates were elected, among them Jeannie Lyle, who won a seat on the Wilmington City Council.

While Morris and Santana ran in nonpartisan races with Forward Party support, both remain affiliated with other political parties. Morris identified himself as a Republican on his campaign website, and the Forward Party has previously noted that Santana is registered as a Democrat.
