Dr. Jill Stein and Dr. Butch Ware, the Green Party’s most recent presidential and vice presidential nominees, will host a virtual discussion this month featuring Green candidates running in the 2026 election cycle. The forum will include a portion for audience questions.
According to emails shared by the party, the event will take place on December 18 and will include several candidates running for office next year. The discussion was initially scheduled for earlier this week but recently had to be rescheduled. It is open to the public with advance registration required.
While a list of candidates participating wasn’t originally included, the party published on December 12 that Andy Ellis, running for governor of Maryland; Justin Filip, running for U.S. House in Oregon’s 4th Congressional District; and Michael Dublin, running for U.S. House in North Carolina’s 13th District, will attend the discussion.
“We’ve all heard the corrupt consultant class of the two-party puppets of war and Wall Street ask ‘Where is the Green Party? Why do we only hear from them every 4 years for Presidential elections?’” the email reads. “The truth is that Green Party candidates are always running for seats at every level of government but the corporate-run media refuses to cover their races.”
The forum is intended to give Green candidates an opportunity to discuss their campaigns and take questions from attendees. The party also expects it to touch on several issues important to its policy goals, including Medicare for All, rent control and social housing, concerns about practices used by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement, and calls for “lasting peace and an end to genocide.”
Editorial note: The Green Party has published a recording of the forum, which is shared below:

Jill Stein, like the Energizer Bunny, refuses to die off politically. What does this mean for 2028?
