U.S. Taxpayers Party of Michigan to Host Candidate Meet-and-Greet in Taylor

The U.S. Taxpayers Party of Michigan will host a candidate meet-and-greet next month to give voters an opportunity to connect directly with several candidates running under its designation during the 2026 election cycle.

In details shared on social media, the party said the event will be held starting 10:00a at Leon’s Restaurant in Taylor on August 8. Attendees will be able to meet five candidates seeking state and federal office and learn more about their respective campaigns over breakfast.

Federal candidates expected to attend include U.S. Senate nominee Tim Long, Mike Mickevicius in the 6th Congressional District, Marc Sosnowski in the 12th Congressional District, and Chris Dardzinski in the 13th Congressional District. Beth Socia, who is running in the 4th State Senate District, is also scheduled to participate.

The U.S. Taxpayers Party of Michigan is the Constitution Party’s recognized state affiliate and part of its Mid-Western States Area, which is chaired by Paul Venable. The national party also identifies Colorado, Illinois, Nevada, and Utah among the states where the organization has candidates running this election cycle.

The upcoming gathering follows the U.S. Taxpayers Party of Michigan’s state nominating convention, which was held July 18 and 19 at a location disclosed only to members who registered in advance. Party Chair Donna Brandenburg later said in a statement that delegates nominated 19 candidates during the convention and that the appropriate filing paperwork had since been filed with the Michigan Bureau of Elections.

The broader slate includes Brandenburg for governor and Robert Cowper for lieutenant governor, as well as John Ludtke Jr. for attorney general and Scott Aughney for secretary of state, among numerous university board positions. Notably, Dardzinski and Socia were not included in Brandenburg’s initial post-convention list of nominees.
