Seattle Times: 45 minutes with Gary Johnson

Yesterday Gary Johnson Tweeted:

At Cheney Stadium for a meet & greet. I look forward to meeting my amazing supporters!

He also hosted a 45 minute call conference call with over two dozen Libertarian candidates, and found time for an interview with Bruce Ramsey of the Seattle Times.  The article by Mr. Ramsey based on that interview begins:

Our story in Aug. 1 paper, “Obama advisers see hope in 3rd parties,” highlighted Gary Johnson, the nominee of the Libertarian Party. By coincidence, Johnson was in Seattle that day, and I spent 45 minutes with him.

The point of the story was that Johnson and another third-party candidate could draw away Romney votes in key states and hand the election to Obama. That is possible. It is what Ralph Nader did to Al Gore in Florida in 2000.

I asked Johnson if the prospect of being the Nader of 2012 bothers him.

Governor Johnson’s answer and the rest of the interview can be found here:

Interesting quiz. Worthy of a column of its own.

Funny that it says I agree 25% with Jimmy McMillan – he and I both oppose gun control and farm subsidies, McMillan apparently has many issues with no opinion so …

Which is more than my agreement with Obama 10% and Jill Stein 5% …

    98% with Ron Paul …
97% Libertarian Party – wonder what the differences were? … no link to compare
90% with Gary Johnson – must be the fair tax and ending Social Security …

The program seems to allow only partial issue by issue comparisons of the voter to the candidate and non by party.

Remember that for positive articles like this one, hits, shares, “likes”, and so on also help them get more exposure.

I just posted a comment on the Seattle Times site, and encourage all libertarian IPR readers to do the same, and to do this for as many stories about Gary Johnson and the LP as possible.

Just as the freedom movement has done with Ron Paul, let’s work to make sure that every time they cover our party/candidate in a public forum, most of the reader/viewer comments are positive!

It was a good day all around in Washington. Gary came to visit and we also found out we had qualified for the ballot.

One side note, in the candidate conference call Governor Johnson urged everyone to share a link to:

    http://www.isidewith.com

And to join the 1,240,000 others who have taken the quiz. Gary shared that based on the results there so far, if every American took that quiz, and then voted their convictions on the issues, Gary Johnson would be the next President of the United States.

I scored 97 Percent agreement with Gary Johnson, 95 percent with Ron Paul.
