B.A.N. Reports on Michigan Write-In Totals

Richard Winger at Ballot Access News reports that Michigan has released the write-in vote totals cast for President in November 2012:

“Gary Johnson was credited with 7,774 write-ins, the highest number of write-ins ever recorded in Michigan for a presidential candidate in November. The previous record had been Ralph Nader in 1996, who was credited with 2,322 in Michigan”

Ballot Access News gives the total for other write-in candidates as:
“Stewart Alexander, Socialist, 89; Jerry White, Socialist Equality, 68; Tom Hoefling, American’s Independent Party, 42.”

    The figure I have seen is that the LP was outspent by the Democrats and Republicans 666 to 1.

    No, GJ won’t break the 1%

    He might. Currently .992 and rising a little every day. Numbers won’t be final for at least a couple more weeks.

    Why “coveted” 1% ? Johnson got more votes than most of you thought he would. He broke LP POTUS vote totals in over 35 states and % totals in over 25 total states. A SMASHING SUCCESS in LP terms !

    Overall an EXCELLENT year for the LP. Local LP activity is up in ALL areas and the future looks bright. The job is to keep it GROWING.

    No, GJ won’t break the 1% but rounded off it is a solid 1% ! How am I sure ? As write-in votes are counted nationwide each vote drives all “LISTED-ACCESSED” candidates percentage numbers down. So it’s .99%, .98%, or even .97% whatever it is, it is more than most of you thought it would be. Be honest, wasn’t it higher ?!

    That would be Rocky Anderson.

    I think Gary Johnson got more votes (as a write-in) than at least one candidate who actually appeared on the ballot.

    I am very pleased that so many people took time to write-in Gary Johnson. Michigan is my home state and sadly clogged with neocons and nanny staters.

    I don’t know much about the intertrade process. I wonder if the bets are being held while all the votes are being counted. Some people bet Johnson would get at least 1% and others bet he would fall below 1%.

    @NewFederalist

    I hope it will. Plus with other votes still being tabulated in other states, he has a shot at getting that coveted 1.00%.

    I doubt that will push Gov. Johnson past .99%.
