Dean Barkley announced he will not run for U.S. Senate in Minnesota, but is still hopeful that ex-Gov. Jesse Ventura will run. GOP Sen. Norm Coleman is seeking reelection to a seat Barkley held briefly in 2002 after the death of Sen. Paul Wellstone. Al Franken is the Democratic candidate.

Barkley says he’ll manage Ventura’s campaign if he runs. That would be a really interesting race if Jesse does enter it.
I hope that a**hole Franken finishes dead last.
Personally I believe this is good news, but I am still hopeful that Ventura doesn’t run. Nothing against Ventura, Mr. Sharitt. I think he would serve the office well. Unfortunately, under the current circumstances, he would split the anti-establishment vote with Franken and land Coleman an almost certain victory.
Hopefully Ventura will run to give the people of Minnesota a good choice instead of just Franken and Coleman.
