I’m seeing too many nasty comments about people. Most recently there’s been a slew of attacks on Paulie.
Knock it off or I’ll do something about it.
If you have a comment of substance, fine. If it’s just calling someone names, it’ll be deleted fast, and you may well get banned from the site.
I’m tired of this nonsense.

I spent months trying to get CLC to start being less disagreeable. Even this morning, he still didn’t seem to think he was a problem. He hasn’t contributed anything positive since the June article.
+1
Graham’s Hierarchy of Disagreement applies to disagreements. Trolling is not a disagreement. It’s just trolling.
Very disturbing. Shame on all of you for failing to abide by Graham’s Hierarchy of Disagreement.
To be consistent, I oppose this ban, but I certainly understand it. New Federalist did not deserve such treatment, and I hope he comes back. On the other hand, CLC did not deserve to be mocked here, regardless of what he said. I hope he returns as well, if for nothing more than to apologize to New Federalist.
On a side note, my interview with Robert Sarvis is complete and will be published later today.
Excellent decision!
Thanks Warren, hopefully other people will help with enforcement when I’m not around.
Thank you Paulie!
For now, any additional comments from CLC on other threads will be deleted.
My behavior has been perfectly fine
That’s not up to you to decide. Jill and myself feel otherwise, and Warren has already told me to feel free to make these decisions, so I have decided. Your comments are no longer welcome here. I just remembered there is already a “special thread” for you, so that is the only place you are welcome at IPR from now on. https://independentpoliticalreport.com/2013/06/functional-fillmore-frugal-our-movement-starts-now-part-one/
Quoth CLC,
“I’d like to discuss issues facing third party and independent candidates.”
Unlikely. If you liked to do that, you’d have taken one or more of the numerous opportunities here to actually do it, instead of just constantly trolling.
My behavior has been perfectly fine. I want civil discussion but you are being a roadblock.
Well, due to your behavior, you’ll be confined to one thread on IPR. Or you can go somewhere else besides IPR, which would also be fine.
I’d like to discuss issues facing third party and independent candidates.
OK, let’s do that then.
BTW, the colon issues may well explain CLC’s cognitive problems, given that condition.
I think CLC’s condition actually is having the head up the ass.
It’s a pretty rare condition, and it is certainly understandable why CLC would be so sensitive about it.
Yes, Paulie, I agree, but you might run it by Warren,. I suspect he’ll agree with you.
It is commonly known that colon is susceptible to medical issues. It should not be discussed.
Yes, I was sorry to see NF go. I suggested he try us back in a few months.
Oh, that’s what NF said, I remember now, that you had your “head up your ass”! A crude joke, perhaps, but one which is commonly used, was appropriate to your comments, and was certainly not meant personally. We don’t know who you are, so we certainly don’t know what your physical issues are. This might explain why you’ve been so phenomenally unpleasant the past few months.
New Federalist was a long time valued member of IPR’s comment community. CLC is a vicious troll and does not belong here.
Jill, do you agree with me that comments from CLC should no longer be welcome in most threads on IPR, other than a “dedicated thread”?
New Federalist mentioned my colon which is a sensitive subject of discussion due to medical reasons. He should’ve known that. His failure to do so was not civil but offensive.
New Federalist simply disagreed with you. He was perfectly civil. You were way out of line, CLC.
I can’t believe he said what he did. All he’s done is call people hoboes, or part of the “Retard Party” which I found tremendously offensive, for a few months. He chased one person away for good, I’m stunned that he doesn’t realize his behavior has been a problem. I’m really ready to get past this.
New Federalist was placed in the Retard Party because he pushed me beyond my limit. My new policy now is to discuss ideas only with those who are civil.
CLC is about ready to “function” in a dedicated thread and not be welcome in any other thread. Watch the headlines, it’s about to become reality soon.
Speaking of lies, what happened to the promise to ignore me?
I like discussing the issues, CLC, but not by someone who accuses someone who disagrees with him as being part of the “Retard Party” Are we all ready to be grown-ups now?
Being called a liar by a liar doesn’t faze me. I have always been Concerned Citizen and then Concerned Libertarian Citizen after taking the World’s Smallest Political Quiz. I am the only one who wants to discuss the issues. Everyone else seems to want to discuss this dumb extraneous crap.
Elfnino’s Mom , no fucking way, jesus how bout ya move on from your TIRED ASS STORIES
Your email address alone proves that’s not the case, along with many other things.
Yet you do. The only question is how many and whether they include the latest outbreak.
“Concerned Libertarian Citizen October 17, 2013 at 6:33 pm
I am not using other names. I do not need to hide behind multiple aliases unlike someone on this thread.”
So what you are saying I that hiding behind one fake screen name is enough for you.
I am not using other names. I do not need to hide behind multiple aliases unlike someone on this thread.
I repeat:
I’d like to have a substantive policy discussion with anyone willing to be civil. Preferably, I’d like to discuss how third party candidates and independents can win elections.
Please. Start the thread.
But microwave ovens ruin otherwise good food. So, I hate the aforementioned study.
Oh, yeah, and it’s scientifically proven:

Thanks Stewart, Wes and everyone else. What can I say?
I would like to address the comment regarding Paul that suggests “You can verify this with the entire LNC of 2007…”.
I was on the LNC from 2006 until 2012. I was at the meeting in 2007. I was party to a number of conversations and discussions, both in the public meeting and outside of the meeting between myself, Paul, and others. In my opinion, and in the opinion of at least a majority of my colleagues on the LNC who were present and DONATED THEIR OWN PERSONAL MONEY, Paul was a victim not the villain.
I would not have donated some of my own money if I had entertained the slightest doubt of the true nature of the situation.
Paul is not a saint. No one is. Does his past include some questionable events? Sure — and he admits it. I can’t refute other things that were said in that post, since I wasn’t present and wasn’t a first-hand witness. But I can directly refute the comments about Paul and his interaction with the 2006-2008 term of the LNC, and specifically what happened in 2007.
Paul contributes. Yes, he is in the business of petitioning. This makes him, at times, a contractor of the LP and/or its affiliates. But he contributes time and energy outside of his business life at a level that only someone dedicated to the cause would do.
Here is an article about the increase in the number of libertarians on college campuses throughout this country.
http://www.mindingthecampus.com/originals/2013/10/riseoflibertarians.html
Paul, myself, and our few Libertarian ballot access associates have done lots of Libertarian outreach on college campuses across the country. Do you think that the establishment likes the fact that we are out there facilitating this growth in libertarianism on college campuses?
Interestingly enough, the person who runs the site Real Jew News, Brother Nathanael Kapner, ia actually Jewish himself, although he converted to Christianity.
“I removed another comment by ‘Sean Haugh’ which I believe was posted by the same imposter in this thread.”
Speaking of which, I heard that Haugh is now working as a pizza delivery guy in North Carolina. Papa John’s I think.
So much for him becoming a big force in the world of ballot access or in politics in general.
Jill Pyeatt said: “Or, could it possibly have something to do with the fact that third parties are under attack in general, which means we might possibly be finally getting somewhere? That wouldn’t surprise me, either.”
I think that it is within the realm of possibility that the mystery poster is a paid government shill and/or plant. It is a fact that the government pays people to post propaganda online, and it is also a fact that the government sends plants into organizations to subvert them.
What would the motivation be for a propagandist/disinfo agent and/or plant be?
It would be to sabotage, marginalize, or shut down about the only regular “boots on the ground” field outreach that the Libertarian Party has, and also to sabotage LP ballot access.
Why is this? Because Paul, along with a few of his ballot access associates (such as myself), are about the only people who engage in any mass, in person Libertarian outreach to the general public on a regular basis. We disseminated information about the Libertarian Party to I don’t even know how many thousands of people through in person conversations, and have also handed out I don’t even know how many thousands of Libertarian pamphlets, flyers, bumper stickers, etc… We have signed up numerous people to be on the Libertarian Party’s announcement list, registered thousands of people to vote under the Libertarian Party banner (some of the LP voter registrations were done on a paid basis, but some of it has been done on an unpaid volunteer basis as well), and we have gotten positive news coverage for the Libertarian Party in newspapers, as well as on radio and television. We have helped start or expand libertarian clubs at numerous college campuses. We have informed numerous people about their right of jury nullification. We have regularly gotten good validity rate on petition drives, and have saved ballot access drives for the Libertarian Party on multiple occasions.
If just a small handful of people can do all of the stuff that I mentioned above, just imagine what could be done if there were more like us. The establishment sure would not like that, would they?
Perhaps we have been too effective, so “they” want to sabotage us or shut us down. It is a documented fact that the government spies on American citizens, and that it particularly spies on groups that are politically active and who pose any kind of threat to the controlling establishment. It is a fact that the government has paid shills who post government propaganda online. It is a fact that the government sends plants into organizations. Maybe the individual or individuals (there cold be more than one of them) who keep popping up here are on a government payroll, and their assignment is to monitor websites where anti-establishment activists post and to spread propaganda, which includes smearing the most effective anti-establishment activists. Heck, some of these people may even pop up at Libertarian Party meetings and smile and shake everyone’s hands. Some of them may even get themselves elected to positions within the LP so they can report on the real activists and render the organization to be less effective than it would be otherwise (as in internal sabotage).
Think all of this sounds crazy? Then you have not been paying very close attention to what is going on with the government. I’m not saying as a 100% fact that this is what is going on in this particular case, but I’m just raising it as a real possibility, a disturbing one, but a real one none the less.
In my opinion, comment 2 should be slagged.
That’s the current comment 2.
Having said that, perhaps someone can investigate whether the “block ISP” scheme, which fails against anonymizers, can be replaced with a “pass ISP” scheme, where the first couple of posts of new people are moderated. I also note that most but not all trolls use fake names.
I can speak from personal experience in Oregon that handing out felonies in Oregon for petition signature fraud during the time period that Paulie was nicked would be like handing out speeding tickets at the Indy 500.
They wanted to get to Sizemore and would try to use anyone they could to get to him.
Yep, I can answer questions if anyone has any. I’d rather talk about more relevant topics though. There’s certainly no lack of those. We can zap spam, imposter comments and unsubstantiated allegations whenever we want…it’s not that hard, and honestly, I don’t think it needs this level of navel-gazing. Many people and sites have had to deal with these problems for many years. It’s one of the downsides of having a relatively open comment environment and, to some degree, a sign of success (forums which haven’t achieved some level of attention and active participation don’t attract these problems). Overall, I think a relatively open comment environment still has more positive than negative points, but I also think there have to be some exceptions, and these things cross that line. I’ll continue to exercise my judgement to the best of my abilities in that regard, and I’m sure, will keep getting flak from both directions no matter what I decide in any given instance. C’est la vie.
Mark,
Well, I said 99.9% of the time. There IS that other 0.01% where some of Paulie’s past activities might be relevant … but my recollection is that when that happens, he’s been forthcoming with answers to the relevant questions.
The other 99.9% of the time breaks down into two categories:
1) Would-be nemeses who cyber-stalk him online, including here; and/or
2) People who feel like they can’t win their argument on its merits so resort to personally slagging their opponents.
Both of which I very much understand that Warren will find tiresome.
I removed another comment by “Sean Haugh” which I believe was posted by the same imposter in this thread. It was more of the same stuff.
Tom hit the nail on the head: this is a website about third party politics.
The allegations about Paulie, even if they were true, are not relevant to IPR in any way (although they might be to Warren’s legal practice!).
Next subject.
“Sexual fantasies about children”
Okay, I’m not going to defend or discuss everything else that’s been written, but are we really going to judge people by their fantasies? Thoughts & actions are two VERY different things. I often have fantasies about incest. I have no actual desire to have sex with a member of my family. That’s gross. That’s what makes it a FANTASY.
The rest, I don’t know what is true & what isn’t. It sounds as if Paulie has hard a dark past, but that shouldn’t exclude him from posting on his site, and especially posting as he wishes in the open thread. Which is, you know, open.
I don’t think it’s really Elfninosmom. I think it’s just someone who really has some personal grudge against Paulie, which doesn’t happen to concern us.
Most of us know there’s darkness in Paulie’s past. How does that affect us today? Doesn’t someone have the right to get on with their life, and change their behavior?
So, enough already. I’m tired of this, also.
Or, could it possibly have something to do with the fact that third parties are under attack in general, which means we might possibly be finally getting somewhere? That wouldn’t surprise me, either.
I am, and it’s not news to many of the people here. The rest is grossly exaggerated and a lot of it is complete bullshit.
I am 99% plus sure it is not. “ENM” Also popped up yesterday and made an anti-semitic comment. She is a lot of things, some of which I am not very fond of (the feeling is mutual), but I don’t believe she’s bigoted against any ethnicities or religions.
Also, in a short period of time yesterday, comments made from IP anonymizers which were personal attacks against me were supposedly made by Sean Haugh, Angela Keaton, Eric Dondero, Mike Nelson/disinter, and someone I never heard of (“Ray Villaincourt”). Granted all these people don’t like me, but I bet it was the same person posting under multiple fake identities and multiple IP anonymizers/VPNs. Some other comments were posted claiming to be the real Sean Haugh and saying that he did not post the first comment with his name on it; I don’t know and don’t care very much if it was or was not, but it may have been. All those comments got taken down – I only took down a couple of them, and thank Jill, Warren or whoever removed the rest. I’m not sure whether this is also the person posting as “Concerned Libertarian Citizen” or someone else.
“Have you considered the possibility that you have fallen for a con artist’s sociopathic charm?”
I’ve fallen for his substantial contributions to this website over the years.
“What it boils down to is that they are running an extortion racket, trying to bilk clients out of additional money by making themselves such a nuisance that people will pay them to go away. They have been running this scam on this very website for years, and others before it existed.”
Your paranoid fantasy is hysterical. This website is not big enough to matter to anyone who knows what they’re doing.
And no, I can’t verify your assertion that he’s a convicted felon. I just tried.
But again, I’m a criminal defense lawyer. So what?
“ElfninosMom October 17, 2013 at 6:31 am”d
I’ve got a feeling that this is not really ElfninosMom. Regardless of who it is, it is probably the same person who keeps popping up on this forum repeating the same lies and exaggerations over and over again.
“Multiple criminal associates. Hard drug abuse, addiction and dealing. Violent assaults. Thefts and robberies. Rape allegations which he claims were false. Sexual fantasies about children. Doing jail time in multiple states. Family and personal connections to organized crime. Degenerate gambling. Patronizing an unknown number of prostitutes”
Do you know what my day job is? I’m a criminal defense lawyer. You just made him more endearing to me. 🙂
ENM,
And have you considered the possibility that Warren just wants to run a site in which all of the stuff you just said is, 99.9% of the time, completely off-topic?
“Most recently there’s been a slew of attacks on Paulie.”
Warren, you are truly a sap. Why do you think all these different people are “attacking” “paulie”, banning him from sites where he used to nest like I did at Last Free Voice, unfriending him online and/or in person, cutting ties with him, blocking his number, firing him like the North Carolina LP did in 2007 and the LP National under Sean Haugh and Scott Kohlhaas in 2008?
Do you think he is innocent in all of this, just a pure victim who did nothing to deserve any of this? How many other people do you know that are this hated by so many different people?
Peruse your own archives to see what he himself brags about. Multiple criminal associates. Hard drug abuse, addiction and dealing. Violent assaults. Thefts and robberies. Rape allegations which he claims were false. Sexual fantasies about children. Doing jail time in multiple states. Family and personal connections to organized crime. Degenerate gambling. Patronizing an unknown number of prostitutes (many of them no doubt victims of human trafficking), perhaps thousands, over many years. And the list goes on.
Then look at what other people have written about him, with allegations up to and including burying an ex-wife or girlfriend in a shallow grave in Mexico.
But let’s just stick with verifiable facts. We know that he is a convicted felon with a record of forgery, fraud, election crimes, trespassing/breaking and entry, public intoxication and reckless driving. You can verify that for yourself.
We know that he and his “business” associates have had multiple allegations against them and against each other and multiple complaints from clients. You can check with many different people as to what their record is. What it boils down to is that they are running an extortion racket, trying to bilk clients out of additional money by making themselves such a nuisance that people will pay them to go away. They have been running this scam on this very website for years, and others before it existed. You can verify this with the entire LNC of 2007, the current Constitution Party national committee, Virgil Goode, Sean Haugh, Angela Keaton, Scott Kohlhaas and many others.
You know that he and his associates have been accused by others, and by each other, of habitual violence, fraud, and theft.
Yet you think all this is made up? Have you even bothered trying to investigate? All this smoke…no fire? Really? How many other innocent people do you know who have all this swirling around them all the time?
Is this the kind of person you want to entrust? You should really think this through more carefully. Have you considered the possibility that you have fallen for a con artist’s sociopathic charm? Think about it.
A very wise decision. You have great patience to wait this long.
