Baldwin on weeklong swing through Utah

The Salt Lake Tribune reports on Constitution Party presidential nominee Chuck Baldwin’s weeklong swing through Utah, saying Baldwin would outlaw abortion “under any circumstance,” eliminate “the Internal Revenue Service, federal income tax and the Department of Education,” and fund what remains of government “through a 10 percent general tariff on all goods entering the country. Baldwin condemns the invasion and occupation of Iraq, because it was done without a declaration of war. He pledges to reasonably and safely extract all troops. A fan of home-schooling, Baldwin also pledges to get rid of No Child Left Behind, an act he calls a ‘monstrosity’ and a huge intrusion into state and community rights. Baldwin adamantly opposes free trade and the movement toward a global economy and universal currency.” In an interview with the newspaper, Baldwin said, “I will stop the New World Order the day I get into office. It threatens our independence and sovereignty.” The Tribune adds, “Some think Baldwin could be the next Ross Perot in terms of making a significant third-party impact in November.” Utah Constitution Party Chairman Frank Fluckiger said, “I think we’ll do amazingly well this year. We’ve struggled for so long and all of a sudden, it’s mushrooming. For every two Republicans that come over our way, we’re getting one Democrat and one independent.”

Utah’s St. George Spectrum reports on the candidate’s Tuesday stop in St. George. Said one supporter there, “Our problems in this nation today are serious problems such as gas prices, immigration, the economy, and freedom. They all exist because of our departure from the Constitution of the United States. The founding fathers had it right.” Baldwin told the Spectrum, “Utah is a very important state for us because there’s a lot of great constitutionally minded people who live here. I believe it’s important they hear the message that they have an alternative this year. I believe Utah people and our message is a natural fit.”

Where’s the SLC TV? Local media truly matters while the MSM blackout continues!

I’m overlooking somethings to support him. He needs to realize opposing FREE trade completely is a disaster waiting to happen. Ron Paul is a free trader. Fair free trade is a good thing, no trade is a death wish…
