Fox Business to air Libertarian town hall tonight at 9 pm ET

theams

Gary Johnson and Bill Weld will appear in a Fox Business town hall hosted by John Stossel, airing tonight at 9 pm Eastern Time.  According to an article published today by TheHill.com, :

Stossel said he “wised up” while reading the works of Nobel prize-winning economists F.A. Hayek and Milton Friedman, along with Reason Magazine.

“I’m not a member of the Libertarian Party. I’m a registered Democrat. But I’m attracted to libertarianism because it makes sense,” he explains. “I see how politicians always move toward more rules, and the accumulated rules crush freedom and opportunity.”

Stossel published a column, entitled “Why Johnson and Weld are much better than Clinton or Trump,” two days ago in which he voiced support for the Libertarian Party’s presidential ticket.

Didn’t watch the whole thing, but seemed to be the same ol’, same ol’. Johnson obsessing over his Nazi cakes, Weld undermining things he says (eg, foreign aid). Same old stuff.

    Solid A- performance.

Convincing people that these D- R and D candidates are both unacceptable is not an easy task ONLY because of inertia. J/W still need a break, and it seems likely that DJT and HRC have a deep well of potential to provide such a break.

Didn’t watch it. Have no idea what was said.

“could be that he’s not a blinders-wearing zealot like the usual LP candidates.” Those of us who are not blinders wearing zealots, for example for broadcast TV ads, have figured out it has almost nothing to do with Johnson and almost everything to do with Trump and Clinton.

Rebel Alliance: “So, what new issue(s) will Weld or Johnson cave in on to further undermine libertarian principles? Let’s all watch with baited breath!”

Or you can just let Knapp, Phillies, dL, langa, TRex, et al tell you about them tomorrow. I’m sure that will be more entertaining.

The usual whining about the most successful candidate in the party’s history . . . I wonder why that is . . . could be that he’s not a blinders-wearing zealot like the usual LP candidates. I look forward tonight. Have a great weekend everyone.

So, what new issue(s) will Weld or Johnson cave in on to further undermine libertarian principles? Let’s all watch with baited breath!

“When it’s all said and done, Stossel says he wants the primary takeaway to be understanding the benefits of the Libertarian platform.

There’s one party that doesn’t want to police the world, your bedroom, your workplace, your speech, your body, and also wants to stop America from spending ourselves broke,” he said.

Stossel predicted the event would convince voters to abandon major-party nominee Donald Trump

“After my show, 15 percent of the voters will realize that Johnson [and] Weld are better than Trump and Hillary. They’ll qualify for the debates. Millions will finally learn about them, so Johnson will be president this year.”

Stossel is in recovery from lung cancer and back at work, so he should be able to take a job in the Johnson administration.
